Assistant Rowing Coach - Cranbrook Schools

Cranbrook Athletics seeks an Assistant Rowing Coach who values the experience of being part of a rowing team and is passionate about working with young people. Our program is built on the belief that athletics should develop confidence, self-awareness, resilience, and balance while fostering kindness, character, leadership, and personal growth. Rowing experience is preferred, but a dedication to fitness, student development, and a willingness to learn are also highly valued.

Cranbrook has a proud athletic tradition that includes hundreds of conference, district, and regional championships. The Cranes have captured 102 State Championships across seven different sports and compete in outstanding athletic facilities.

The Assistant Rowing Coach will:

  • Assist the Head Coach in planning and conducting practices for novice and varsity rowers.
  • Provide instruction in rowing technique, race preparation, and athlete development.
  • Supervise student-athletes during practices, regattas, and team travel while ensuring a safe environment.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and student-centered team culture.
  • Serve as a positive role model through professionalism, sportsmanship, integrity, and respect.

Requirements:

  • Rowing experience as an athlete and/or coach is preferred but not required.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

  • A commitment to the educational mission of school-based athletics.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with coaches, students, families, and colleagues.
