The Senior Environmental Services Aide is accountable for a variety of cleaning tasks in order to maintain a clean environment for patients, clients and visitors.
Responsibilities
A day in the life of a Senior Environmental Services Aide at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:
  • Cleans patient care rooms, outpatient areas and public areas following proper procedures in all areas as assigned to meet Hackensack UMC cleaning standards.
  • Maintains all floors surfaces.
  • Performs repetitive cleaning operations throughout the work day under specific instructions with little need for individual judgment in working out job problems.
  • Works with frequent contact with water and cleaning solutions.
  • Moves furniture as required.
  • Replaces shower curtains as needed.
  • Collects soiled linen and disposes of same linen in laundry chute.
  • Adheres to the standards identified in the Medical Center's Organizational Competencies.

Qualifications
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
  • High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
  • Three years of hospital housekeeping experience.
  • Good communication skills.

Licenses and Certifications Required:
  • Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Technician (CHEST / AHE).
  • Maintain annual CEUs and renew certification every 4 years.

Starting Minimum Rate
Minimum rate of $18.50 Hourly
