JOB DESCRIPTION
Note: additional duties may be assigned
  • Sweeps, scrubs, waxes and polishes floors; vacuums, shampoos and extracts carpets; uses appropriate mechanical floor equipment as required.
  • Cleans fixtures, windows, blinds and draperies; dusts and cleans furniture and equipment; cleans and maintains walls, ceilings, windows, door panels, woodwork and metalwork; replaces consumable items such as filters as needed.
  • Cleans bathrooms and stocks with paper goods and other materials.
  • Cleans cafeteria during and after food service; folds and moves cafeteria tables as required.
  • Inventories, requisitions and replenishes custodial and consumable supplies. Replaces light bulbs, light fixture covers, ceiling tile and other broken or damaged fixtures or hardware.
  • Empties waste baskets and transports trash and debris to the disposal area; processes recyclable material.
  • Cuts and trims grass; removes debris from grounds; and shovels snow. May be required to work outside of a normal shift during weather events or other unusual circumstances.
  • Unloads and transports material throughout the building; sets up tables, chairs and other equipment in various locations.
  • Checks building operation; cleans mechanical equipment; assists with or performs repairs or installations in accordance with capabilities; does minor painting as required; reports abnormal conditions to appropriate personnel; and secures building upon departure.

QUALIFICATIONS
Some high school courses and two years of relevant experience. Other relevant training or experience may be substituted at the discretion of the school administration. Must be able to follow routine procedures and respond to written and oral instructions. Applicant must be able to perform all essential and physical functions of the position.
