Copy Center Operator

Location: Washington, DC Metro Area 

Classification: Non-Exempt 

Clearance: Active Public Trust

Position Summary 

We are seeking an experienced Copy Center Operator to support high-volume legal production operations for attorney end users in a secure government or litigation support environment. The ideal candidate has experience working in fast-paced legal environment. eDiscovery, or government legal support settings and possesses an active security clearance. This role requires strong customer service skills, technical production expertise, and the ability to manage sensitive legal documents with accuracy and confidentiality. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Operate and maintain high-volume digital production equipment including copiers, scanners, printers, bindery, and finishing equipment.  
  • Provide daily support to attorneys, paralegals, and litigation support teams with document production requests.  
  • Process large-scale copy, print, scan, imaging, and electronic document requests under strict deadlines.  
  • Prepare legal documents for court filings, trial preparation, discovery productions, and secure distribution.  
  • Perform quality control checks to ensure accuracy, formatting consistency, pagination, and completeness.  
  • Handle classified, confidential, and sensitive materials in accordance with security protocols and chain-of-custody procedures.  
  • Coordinate rush jobs and prioritize workloads based on litigation deadlines and attorney requirements.  
  • Support electronic discovery and document management workflows as needed.  
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate service calls with vendors when necessary.  
  • Maintain organized production logs, inventory, and supply levels.  
  • Deliver exceptional customer service in a high-pressure legal environment.  

Required Qualifications 

  • Active Public Trust clearance  
  • 2+ years of experience in a copy center, reprographics, litigation support, or legal services environment.  
  • Certification: HDI-CSR  
  • Experience supporting high-volume attorney end users in a law firm, government agency, or corporate legal department.  
  • Proficiency operating high-volume Ricoh, Xerox, Canon, or Konica Minolta production equipment.  
  • Experience with scanning, OCR, document imaging, and electronic file conversion.  
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PDF software such as Adobe Acrobat.  
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines with minimal supervision.  
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.  
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.  

Work Environment 

  • Fast-paced legal and government support environment.  
  • May require overtime, evening, or weekend support during trial preparation or high-volume production periods.  
  • Work performed onsite in secure facilities within the Washington, DC metro area.
