Job description

As a Staff Psychiatrist with Clarks Summit State Hospital, you will play an essential role in shaping treatment plans and supporting patient success.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK This position provides comprehensive psychiatric care through examinations, treatment planning, and collaboration with interdisciplinary staff. As a Staff Psychiatrist, you will perform the following duties: Clinical Assessment: Conduct detailed psychiatric examinations and interpret diagnostic findings Treatment Planning: Develop individualized treatment plans that guide patient progress Team Collaboration: Work with interdisciplinary staff and participate in team meetings to coordinate care Emergency Response: Lead and manage psychiatric and medical emergencies during assigned hours Documentation Duties: Prepare psychiatric reports, progress notes, treatment reviews, and discharge summaries Community Coordination: Support discharge planning and communicate with community providers for follow-up care Interested in learning more. Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. You may work possible evening, weekend, and holiday on-call shifts. Your schedule may change based on operational needs

Overtime and travel as operationally necessary Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position. Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. FREE parking.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirement: Completion of a residency or training program in psychiatry which meets the certification requirements of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology or the American Osteopathic Board of Neurology and Psychiatry.

Special Requirement: You must be in possession of a license to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as issued by the State Board of Medical Education and Licensure, or the State Board of Osteopathic Examiners. Other Requirements: PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title. You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements: A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and drug screening. This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act. Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
