What is an evaluation job?

Evaluation jobs involve assessing the effectiveness, quality, or impact of programs, projects, or products. Professionals in evaluation roles collect and analyze data, provide feedback, and make recommendations to help organizations improve their operations or outcomes. These roles are common in sectors like education, healthcare, nonprofit, and government, where measuring success and accountability is essential. Evaluation specialists use qualitative and quantitative methods and often communicate findings through detailed reports or presentations.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an evaluation specialist?

To thrive as an Evaluation Specialist, you need strong analytical skills, knowledge of research methodologies, and typically a degree in social sciences, public health, or a related field. Familiarity with data analysis software such as SPSS, R, or Excel, and experience with survey design and statistical reporting are often required. Critical thinking, attention to detail, and effective communication help you interpret findings and convey results to stakeholders. These skills ensure that programs are accurately assessed and improved, supporting evidence-based decision-making.

What are some common challenges faced by evaluation professionals when assessing program effectiveness, and how can they be addressed?

Evaluation professionals often encounter challenges such as limited access to quality data, stakeholder resistance, or unclear project objectives. To address these, evaluators can establish clear communication with stakeholders early on, set achievable and measurable objectives, and use mixed-methods approaches to compensate for data gaps. Building strong relationships and maintaining transparency throughout the evaluation process can also help increase buy-in and ensure more meaningful, actionable results.

What is the difference between Evaluation vs Assessment?

Job description
We are proud to introduce you to our practice, Brain and Body Integration!

Neuropsychological/Psychological Evaluation-Psychologist

If you have a passion for assessment and want to make an impact to the lives of the children, adults, and families we serve, this may be the professional future you’ve been looking for.
We are seeking: a full-time licensed psychologist at our Denver location. Our psychologists typically perform three to four evaluations per week, and feedback is provided to all clients that we evaluate. We mostly focus on serving Medicaid clients and other disadvantaged populations. We believe that our services are essential for clients to receive targeted treatment and resources that are designed to meet their unique needs.
We offer:
· Flexibility in scheduling. You don’t want to work five days in-office? You don’t have to!
· Balance between working in-office and at home. You evaluate your clients in the office, but you are free to leave the office and write your report from the comfort of your home.
· Comprehensive training to ensure you feel confident and competent in the evaluations we perform.
· Salaried positions ranging from $90,000-$120,000 per year. Salary can vary depending on experience with evaluations, and the number of evaluations you perform per week. In addition, yearly salary increases if you assume supervisory duties of a pre-doctoral intern or post-doctoral intern.
· Reimbursement of malpractice insurance policy premiums and state license renewal fees
· $500 continuing education allowance
· Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance coverage
· 401k 4% matching
· 48 hours of PTO (with PTO being increased for each year that you maintain employment with our practice)
Education and Qualifications

· Licensed in the state of Colorado as a Psychologist
· Psy.D. or Ph.D. in Clinical, Forensic, or School Psychology
· Prior experience in comprehensive evaluations
· A desire and passion to learn new evaluations, tests, and assessment; and a commitment to becoming one of the best evaluation psychologists in the state of Colorado
Job Duties and Team Dynamic

· Perform 3-4 evaluations per week
· Provide feedback to each client you evaluate
· Write quality evaluation reports that answer the referral question without writing a novel
· Cover the clinic 1-2 days per week. Covering the clinic means that you are available in-person to our training staff if they have urgent client needs and they are unable to get a hold of their supervisor. We generally schedule coverage days during days you are already scheduled to perform evaluations.
· Consult with other team members and offer your consultation when needed
· Facilitate growth and connectedness amongst your colleagues. Our practice can only be as healthy and thriving as each individual employee and the impact they have upon their colleagues. If our team is healthy and happy, our practice will do just fine.
If this job fits with the passion and purpose you have for the practice of psychology, contact us today!
