Job description

Embedded Software Engineer

Location: Manhattan Beach, CA - Candidates must currently reside in the Greater Los Angeles area or be willing to relocate within 30 days of offer acceptance.

Work Environment: Onsite

We are seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer to join a high-performing aerospace engineering team supporting advanced flight, space, and ground systems. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys developing real-time embedded software in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain embedded software solutions for aerospace applications.
  • Develop software operating in resource-constrained environments with real-time performance requirements.
  • Implement complex data analysis, data routing, and control system algorithms.
  • Work with embedded processors, memory architectures, and I/O interfaces.
  • Develop procedural and object-oriented software using C/C++.
  • Support software throughout the full development lifecycle, including requirements, design, coding, integration, testing, and debugging.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams in a laboratory environment.
  • Ensure compliance with software engineering standards and best practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Strong experience with C/C++ and object-oriented software development.
  • Experience working in RTOS environments such as FreeRTOS, RT-Linux, GH Integrity, Linux, or VxWorks.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced development lab environment.
  • Active Security Clearance or Top Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience across the software development lifecycle, including architecture, requirements, development, testing, and integration.
  • Experience working with laboratory and test equipment such as signal generators, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, and network analyzers.
  • Experience supporting hardware validation and verification activities involving RF, digital, or mixed-signal systems.
  • Experience working within Agile, Waterfall, or Spiral development methodologies.
