The Missile Systems Business Unit is seeking a Program Manager to support our growing presence in the global defense market. This individual will play a pivotal role in guiding programs through all phases of their lifecycle, including design and development, Low-Rate Initial Production (LRIP), and transition to full-rate production.
The ideal candidate will be a self-driven professional with exceptional communication skills, a strong sense of initiative, and a proven ability to lead projects. They will embody the culture and values that are core to Moog's Defense Sector, contributing both technically and ethically to the success of the organization.
This position is based onsite at our East Aurora, NY, Plant 20 facility, and offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a dynamic and expanding business environment.
Program Manager
The Program Manager is responsible for overseeing multiple production or development initiatives, typically valued between $1-$12 million. This role encompasses developing comprehensive plans for each assigned program and directing execution through Moog's functional departments to ensure fulfillment of contractual requirements, as well as achievement of performance and profitability objectives. Serving as the primary point of contact for the customer, the Program Manager manages all program-related communications, delivers required reports to both the client and Moog leadership, and coordinates internal updates to ensure alignment and transparency across the organization.
As a Program Manager, you will...
  • Develop program plans and schedules to ensure coordination between all program elements. Monitor the status of cost, schedule, and task completion to ensure compliance with program plans.
  • Coordinate with functional management to ensure the assignment of program resources.
  • Conduct day-to-day communications with the customer to resolve outstanding issues in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate and manage all program activities to ensure compliance with contract requirements.
  • Plan, coordinate and manage the preparation of presentation materials for internal and customer meetings and reviews. Manage the conduct of such meetings and reviews.
  • Prepare regular status reports, for management and the customer, which provide visibility for program issues and risks.
  • Assist in the preparation of proposals and change orders, and support fact-finding and negotiations to ensure completeness from a program management viewpoint.

Minimum Qualifications to be considered...
  • Bachelor's degree in a business or technical field, preferably Engineering.
  • 5+ years of specific program management or related experience, preferably in relevant markets, and in the manufacturing of products for the aerospace or defense industries.
  • Lead, organize, and influence people through outstanding communication and facilitation skills; all while demonstrating strong awareness of emotional intelligence.
  • Ability to efficiently present program information to customers and internal management; ability to navigate high pressure situations.
  • Proficiency with MS Project required.
  • Experience managing multiple programs simultaneously preferred.
  • Experience managing Development Programs is a plus.
  • Knowledge of project management tools including Earned Value Management is a plus.
  • Experience working with DoD customers; knowledge of DoD contractual terms, conditions and requirements a plus.
  • PMI PMP certification is a plus.

Salary Range Transparency:
Buffalo, NY $100,000.00-$130,000.00 Annually

Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
