Job Description

Tensley Consulting is seeking a Target Analyst Reporter to support critical national security missions in the Fort Meade area. The selected candidate will provide technical analysis and reporting support involving computer network exploitation, vulnerability analysis, network forensics, cyber operations, and intelligence community mission activities.


The ideal candidate will possess strong technical reporting capabilities and experience analyzing complex network, system, and cyber-related information in support of operational mission requirements.


Education/Experience

Seven (7) years’ experience in two (2) or more of the following areas is required: Computer Network Exploitation, vulnerability assessment, penetration testing, incident response, network or server forensics, cryptoanalytic work within a military or Intelligence Community organization, or cryptology within a military or Intelligence Community organization.


Education may be substituted for up to four (4) years of the required experience in accordance with the applicable labor category substitution requirements.


One (1) year of experience in two (2) or more of the following areas is required: file hashing and fuzzy file hashing; intrusion detection tools; packet capture and analysis; network mapping and discovery; or industry-standard system and network diagnostic tools.


Two (2) years of experience in one (1) or more of the following areas is required: exploit development for Microsoft Windows, UNIX, or mobile operating systems; software reverse engineering; analysis of code in memory; or implementation of networks utilizing IPv6 protocols.


Salary: $125,000-$145,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position, but is not guaranteed. Salary is based on experience, location and contractual requirements which could fall outside of the range listed.

  • Experience conducting vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, incident response, or network and server forensic analysis.

  • Experience using commercial, open-source, or Government-Off-the-Shelf intrusion detection tools, such as Snort or BroIDS.
  • Experience performing packet capture and analysis using tools such as tcpdump, Ethereal, Wireshark, or NOSEHAIR.
  • Experience using network mapping and discovery tools, such as Nmap or TRICKLER.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard system and network tools, including Netcat, Netstat, Traceroute, rpcinfo, nbtscan, snmpwalk, and the Sysinternals suite.
  • Knowledge of exploit development techniques for Microsoft Windows, UNIX, and mobile operating systems.
  • Experience performing software reverse engineering using code disassemblers and debugging tools, such as IDA Pro and OllyDbg.
  • Experience analyzing code and system artifacts in memory, including RAM snapshots, Windows crash dump files, and UNIX kernel dumps.
  • Knowledge of IPv6 protocols and network implementation.
  • Strong technical analysis, research, writing, and reporting skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical findings clearly and accurately to mission stakeholders.
