Position Overview
Jefferies is seeking an experienced ETF Trader to join its New York trading team. The successful candidate will be responsible for facilitating client activity, making markets, and managing risk across a broad range of Exchange-Traded Funds, including both Equity and Fixed Income ETFs. This individual will play a critical role in providing liquidity, delivering best-in-class execution, and serving as a trusted advisor to institutional clients.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong track record of ETF trading, deep product expertise across the ETF ecosystem, and established client relationships. The candidate should be comfortable managing risk in dynamic market environments while collaborating closely with Sales, Research, Capital Markets, and other trading desks to drive franchise growth.
Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate institutional client trading activity across the Equity and Fixed Income ETF universe.
  • Make markets and manage principal risk while maintaining disciplined risk management practices.
  • Provide liquidity and execution solutions to a diverse institutional client base, including hedge funds, asset managers, pensions, and insurance companies.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, serving as a trusted resource for ETF market intelligence and execution expertise.
  • Identify trading opportunities and generate ideas that support client engagement and revenue growth.
  • Monitor primary and secondary ETF market activity, including creations/redemptions, fund flows, and liquidity dynamics.
  • Collaborate closely with Sales Trading, Cash Equities, Fixed Income, Derivatives, and Capital Markets professionals to deliver integrated client solutions.
  • Stay current on ETF product developments, market structure trends, regulatory developments, and competitive dynamics.
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives aimed at expanding and strengthening Jefferies' ETF trading franchise.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to enhance client coverage, execution quality, and overall platform capabilities.

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in ETF trading, market making, risk management, or institutional equity trading.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage risk and facilitate client flow in a market-making environment.
  • Strong understanding of ETF market structure, liquidity dynamics, pricing, and execution strategies.
  • Deep product knowledge across both Equity and Fixed Income ETFs.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain institutional client relationships.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented trading environment.
  • FINRA Series 7 and Series 57 licenses (or ability to obtain upon hire).

New York, NY Full Time Base Salary Range of $175,000-300,000.

The salary offered will take into consideration an individual's experience level and qualifications.
