As an Estimator in the construction and foodservices industry, you play a crucial role in the preparation of detailed foodservice equipment estimates and bid proposals. Your responsibilities encompass a range of tasks, from reviewing bid documents to attending pre-bid meetings and evaluating bid opportunities. This role is pivotal in ensuring the accuracy and competitiveness of TriMark's bids.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Bid Package Management:
  • Request, receive, and review foodservice equipment bid packages to initiate the estimating process.
  • Compile estimates and prepare detailed bid proposals, ensuring clarity and precision.
  • Collaborate with the Estimating Manager to evaluate bid opportunities and assess their alignment with TriMark's capabilities.

Documentation Analysis:
  • Analyze drawings and construction documents to prepare comprehensive estimates, encompassing time, cost, materials, and labor.

Vendor & Subcontractor Engagement:
  • Solicit pricing from vendors and subcontractors, reviewing their submissions for accuracy and competitiveness.

Timely Follow-Up:
  • Promptly follow up on submitted bids to enhance the chances of success.

Contract Transition:
  • Upon the receipt of a contract, review the scope of work and schedule, coordinating with the Project Manager, Project Coordinator, and Contract Administrator.

Vendor Negotiations:
  • Assist with vendor negotiations to secure favorable terms and pricing.

Relationship Building:
  • Establish and maintain strong, positive relationships with customers, vendors, and company personnel.

Problem Resolution:
  • Research and address questions as they arise to ensure the accuracy of estimates and proposals.

Supplier Directory Maintenance:
  • Help maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors to facilitate efficient bidding.

Performance Improvement:
  • Contribute to TriMark's growth by increasing bid win percentage, bid revenue, and gross profit on jobs year after year.

Business Development:
  • Build relationships with General Contractors, Consultants, and Architects to establish a robust book of business.

COMPETENCIES:
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Good problem-solving and critical thinking skills with a proactive approach.
  • Effective time management skills with a high sense of urgency.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as part of a team.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Office products and Adobe Acrobat. Familiarity with Bluebeam, Unifier, and JD Edwards is preferred.
  • Basic working knowledge of general construction, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing.
  • Knowledge of construction specification documents, including the document flow process, submittals, RFI/RFP processes, and addendums.
  • Ability to read architectural drawings and written specifications.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
  • 2 - 4 years of experience in a Project Management or Estimating role within the Construction industry, or equivalent Military or practical experience.
  • 1 - 2 years Project Management or Estimating role in the Construction industry.
  • Experience in the Foodservice industry is preferred.
  • Must complete CFSP Test within first 3 years of employment.
  • OSHA 30-Hr Construction Safety & Health Certification is preferred.
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check post offer acceptance.

Compensation includes the posted base salary range and does not reflect potential commission, incentive, bonus, or other additional compensation opportunities, where applicable. Total compensation is determined based on experience, skills, internal equity, geographic location, and other job-related compensatory factors.
In addition to base salary, this role will be eligible for participation in TriMark's' benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, 401K (with employer match), etc. Leadership positions may also qualify for participation in bonus programs commensurate with role and scope of responsibility.
