Location: Columbus, Ohio

Job Description:

A leading renewable energy EPC contractor is seeking an experienced Estimating Manager to lead estimating efforts for major utility-scale solar and energy storage projects across the U.S. This role is a key part of the companyโ€™s growth strategy and will drive the preparation of accurate, competitive, and winning proposals for large-scale clean energy developments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of estimators focused on delivering high-quality, detailed cost estimates.
  • Review RFPs, project documents, and site information to build comprehensive bid strategies.
  • Oversee the estimating process from the project kickoff through proposal submission.
  • Ensure estimates are accurate, complete, and competitive.
  • Collaborate closely with internal engineering, procurement, and construction teams to align proposals with real world project delivery.
  • Manage and continuously improve cost databases, historical pricing, and market trends.
  • Provide pricing strategies and risk assessments to support executive decision-making.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline estimating workflows and tools for long-term efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related field preferred (minimum High School Diploma or GED required).
  • Minimum 5 years of estimating experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Minimum 2 years of estimating experience specifically on utility-scale solar projects.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Salesforce, and Microsoft Project.
  • Excellent leadership, analytical, and team management skills.
  • Proven ability to develop competitive pricing strategies for large-scale projects.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with AutoCAD.
  • Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems.

Additional Details:

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (no visa sponsorship available).
  • Occasional travel to project sites.
