Title: Parking Technology Estimator / Business Development Manager

Location: San Diego, CA

Compensation: $85,000-$95,000 plus commission incentives

We are seeking an experienced and driven Parking Technology Estimator / Business Development Manager to support continued growth throughout Southern California and Arizona. This role is responsible for developing new business opportunities within the parking technology sector for commercial construction projects while managing the complete sales and estimating process from lead generation through project closeout.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in parking technologies, commercial construction sales, estimating, and relationship management. This individual will also receive exposure and training across APSโ€™ broader portfolio, including gate automation, access control, video surveillance, and service solutions.

This is a high-impact, revenue-generating position that combines technical estimating, consultative sales, account management, and strategic business development.

Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Development & Sales
  • Manage the full sales cycle, including:
    • Lead generation
    • Prospecting and networking
    • Site walks and customer consultations
    • System design and estimating
    • Proposal preparation and presentation
    • Follow-up, negotiation, and closing
  • Develop and execute an annual business plan focused on expanding parking technology opportunities throughout Southern California and Arizona.
  • Present the initial business plan to APS leadership within the first 90 days of employment.
  • Meet or exceed established sales goals, quotas, and performance metrics.
  • Participate in industry networking events, trade organizations, and daily prospecting activities.
Estimating & Project Development
  • Perform accurate estimating and conceptual system design for parking technology projects.
  • Collaborate with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams to develop project solutions and resolve technical or operational issues.
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date project documentation, estimates, and proposal records.
Account Management
  • Manage customer relationships throughout the project lifecycle to ensure successful execution and customer satisfaction.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with:
    • General contractors
    • Subcontractors
    • Parking operators
    • Developers
    • Hospitality groups
    • Engineers and architects
    • Property owners and managers
  • Develop and maintain a current directory of clients, suppliers, contractors, and strategic partners.
CRM & Marketing Support
  • Maintain accurate pipeline activity and opportunity tracking within APSโ€™ CRM system in real time.
  • Support marketing initiatives by contributing project case studies, sales collateral, and other marketing content.
  • Develop strategic partnerships with technology manufacturers and subcontractors.
Qualifications
  • Experience in parking technologies, parking revenue systems, or related low-voltage/security industries preferred
  • Strong background in commercial construction sales and estimating
  • Proven ability to generate new business and close complex projects
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities
  • Proficiency with CRM platforms and Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to travel regularly throughout Southern California and Arizona
  • Valid driverโ€™s license and clean driving record preferred
Work Schedule & Travel
  • Standard working hours are 8:00 AM โ€“ 4:30 PM
  • Flexibility is required to accommodate customer meetings, project schedules, and sales activities
  • Frequent local and regional travel throughout Southern California and Arizona is required
