Job description

Title: Xactimate Estimator (Mitigation - disaster restoration) Servpro Experience

Location: Norwalk, CT

Pay Range:     $60,000 to $80,000, Salary Range (Depends on Experience)

Classification:    Full-Time, Exempt      

Servpro of Stamford, serving the Fairfield County (Norwalk, CT) area is seeking an experienced disaster restoration Estimator. The disaster restoration Estimator is responsible for managing a wide range of functions necessary to successfully obtain, bid and price mitigation projects. They are responsible for ensuring an accurate scope of work is created, delivering a consistent and complete estimate, and maintaining a high quality of service in all dealings with project managers, customers, and resource providers involved in mitigation services.

The Disaster Restoration Estimator is responsible for reviewing, revising, and optimizing restoration estimates to ensure proper billing, maximum allowable recovery, and full documentation compliance. This role works closely with project managers, field teams, and insurance representatives.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities

  • Disaster restoration industry experience and fluent in Xactimate and Cotality (Symbility) is a plus!
  • Conduct site visits to assess damage scope and gather necessary data for estimation purposes.
  • Meet with the project management team ensure an accurate scope of work project details.
  • Create an accurate sketch using Docusketch for initial scope of work for projects.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for mitigation and restoration projects using Xactimate.
  • Review job site documentation to support the services provided and ensure proper client requirements and billing process
  • Very proficient with Xactimate or CoreLogin (Symbility) specific franchise software is required.
  • Assist in the development of change orders, and contract documents related to restoration projects.
  • Prepare budgets based on the estimates created.
  • Maintain written communication with customers, teammates, vendors, and insurance adjusters.
  • Manage production expenses including equipment, vehicles, and other material assets
  • Work with Project Mangers to deliver, thorough, complete and accurate final estimate to office for customer and insurance invoicing.
  • This is an in-office position but may occasionally be required to go to the field to conduct take-offs on larger scale jobs.

REQUIREMENTS, DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS

  • 5+ years proven experience in construction estimating, preferably within mitigation or restoration sectors and/or insurance adjusting experience.
  • 5+ years previous construction project estimating experience.
  • Excellent written communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • 3+ years of experience and use of Xactimate estimating software or Symbility (CoreLogic) Cotality software
  • Proficient use of Docusketch, which provides you everything you need and more to accurately document, sketch, scope, and estimate projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, site management, and contract administration.
  • Experience working on construction sites or within construction management environments is a plus.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Prior involvement with contracts and project documentation is preferred. This role is ideal for professionals committed to precision in estimation and effective project coordination within the restoration industry.
  • Must have a driver's license and a good driving record
  • Current IICRC (WRT, AMRT, others) certifications are preferred

EDUCATION

  • Associates, BA in engineering, construction science or similar relevant field preferred

Schedule:

  • 8 Hour Day / 40+ Hours Per Week Shift, required - Monday to Friday
  • Must be available for on-call rotation and storm travel due to our 24-hour emergency services
  • Some night and weekend work are required

On-Call Dispatcher:

  • As part of our 24-hour emergency services operation, employees are required to serve as an On-Call Dispatcher for one week per month or one week in 6-7 weeks, which is calendared in advance, covering after-hours shift.

Travel (Disaster Response / Storm Travel) Requirement:

  • Ability to travel on short notice for extended periods to assist with disaster response and recovery efforts in out-of-state locations.
  • Requires flexibility to work long, irregular hours, including weekends and holidays, while being deployed to storm-damaged areas.
  • Travel is a critical and rewarding part of this role, providing essential support to communities and fellow SERVPRO franchises overwhelmed by catastrophic events.

Overtime Requirement:

We are a 24/7 Emergency Services business. You will occasionally be expected to work nights and weekends to assist our customers in

their time of need during storms, cold weather, and other natural or man-made emergency situations.

Environment: This position will be in-office and in the field environment; Not eligible for hybrid or remote.
