Primary Position Objectives

To perform cost estimating on request for quotation as stated in internal procedures in order to assure the accurate cost for production of product is maintained.

Position Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Description of Duties

  • Review drawing or CAD file to determine if CSS has the capability to produce
  • Establishes complete manufacturing Routing, Lot Sizes, Estimate and Lead-time
    1. Requests pricing from CSS Purchasing & OV
    2. Requests pricing from Asian affiliates
    3. Processes complete CSS Marked up drawing for CSS and Asian affiliate quotes
    4. Estimates cost and lead-time for tooling, jigs, and fixtures required to produce the job – send to CSS Eng for review if applicable
    5. Notes any applicable Exceptions on Estimate and CSS Marked up drawing
  • Communicates with Asian affiliates for accurate quotes along with supplying technical assistance when orders are being processed
  • Research new materials or coatings when called out on customer drawings
  • Work with all other departments to insure accuracy in an effort to eliminate confusion on future quotes or orders
    1. Communications must include VP of Operations or Eng. Manager
  • Review Router & Quote information when Contract Review folder is created
  • Assures quotations are issued on a timely basis
  • Provides technical information / assistance to all CSS coworkers when requested
  • Meets with customers and work at trade shows in conjunction with sales support
  • Ensures that CSS machinery has the capability to carry out desired functions
  • Keeps abreast of the trend of technology, investigates & suggests effective methods of manufacturing to keep company at competitive edge at all times in a global economy

  • Maintains adherence to company policies, environmental and safety standards, and good housekeeping standards.
  • May be required to assist or otherwise instruct other personnel.
  • Performs other duties as may be required.
  • Attendance is an essential function of the job

Qualifications

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree or comparable job training
  • Formal or job-related training in estimating procedures.
  • Understands manufacturing and outside vending processes.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal/written)
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills
