Job Title: HR Intern (Talent Acquisition & HR Operations Focus)

Position Summary
The HR Intern plays a key role in supporting the employee lifecycle with a strong emphasis on talent acquisition coordination and HR operations. This position is responsible for delivering a high-quality candidate and employee experience through effective communication, process execution, and data accuracy. The role partners closely with hiring managers and the HR team to ensure timely hiring, onboarding, compliance, and administrative support. This is a fully remote position that must be located in MI, WI, IN, IL or FL.

Key Responsibilities

Talent Acquisition & Candidate Experience

  • Post and manage job openings across recruiting platforms and internal systems.

  • Conduct initial phone screens to assess candidate qualifications and alignment.

  • Track candidate activity and status within the applicant tracking system (ATS).

  • Provide timely follow-up communication to candidates and hiring managers.

  • Ensure a positive candidate experience through consistent communication and professionalism.

  • Update HR Tracker with candidate and job updates

Onboarding & Employee Lifecycle Support

  • Coordinate and complete new hire onboarding checklists to ensure a smooth transition.

  • Support employee changes including promotions, transfers, and terminations using standardized checklists.

  • Partner with HR and managers to ensure all employee lifecycle processes are completed accurately and on time.

HR Systems & Data Management

  • Process employee data changes in ADP, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

  • Maintain electronic personnel files through organized e-filing practices.

  • Maintain employee profiles for accuracy in ADP.

  • Support routine audits including I-9 compliance, performance review completion tracking, and MVR policy monitoring.

  • Support with HR projects as assigned by HRBP.

HR Administration & Reporting

  • Generate and support routine HR reports and audits.

  • Track and report employee milestones such as birthdays for manager communications (e.g., manager huddle notes).

  • Complete employment verification requests in a timely and accurate manner.

Employee Engagement & Office Support

  • Coordinate employee recognition efforts including ordering celebratory, service, and sympathy gifts.

  • Assist with maintaining a positive employee experience through thoughtful administrative support.

  • Organize incoming HR mail and distribute to appropriate team members.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

  • 2+ years of HR experience, with exposure to recruiting coordination and HR administration.

  • Experience with HRIS systems (ADP preferred) and applicant tracking systems.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and confidentiality.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience supporting HR audits and compliance processes.

  • Familiarity with onboarding and employee lifecycle workflows.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace tools.
