The PlumpJack Collection of Wineries was formed in 2020 as the overarching brand for PlumpJack’s collection of Napa Valley Wineries. Each of our four wineries spans the Napa Valley. Odette Estate, located in the revered Stags Leap District, gained notoriety for producing the wine that won in 1973 at the Judgment of Paris. PlumpJack Winery, located in the acclaimed Oakville AVA, is home to some of the finest Cabernets in Napa Valley. CADE Estate Winery on Howell Mountain features unique, higher-elevation terrain that produces distinctive wines due to its rocky, volcanic soil and cooler climate. Lastly, our 13th Vineyard is rooted in its history as the 13th bonded winery in California and is located adjacent to CADE Estate on Howell Mountain. All four feature award-winning estate wines and tasting experiences.




Purpose of the role:


The Estate Host position focuses on presenting and selling wine through daily tastings, tours, and experiences. This is a multifaceted position that requires initiative, vision, high energy, and an entrepreneurial spirit.

Responsibilities:

  • This position requires an experienced level of gracious hospitality that is driven by a sincere & genuine connection with all of our guests. Able to create, while guiding our guests with kindness & humility, a memorable experience that exceeds expectations.
  • Focus will be primarily on our Adaptation brand in our Adaptation Tasting Room, while still part of the Odette Estate Host’s Team, the focus is primarily set on strengthening, enriching, and growing the Adaptation brand via the Adaptation Tasting Room.
  • Prepares the tasting room for opening and closing daily in accordance with SOPs.
  • Presents selected wines for tasting and assists consumers with their purchases.
  • Operates cash registers and credit card terminals accurately and efficiently.
  • Processes carry out orders, phone orders, and wine shipping orders in compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Receive and store the weekly wine restock in the wine storage area.
  • Stocks merchandise and supplies as needed.
  • Participate in daily inventories.
  • Checks identification as required by state regulation for serving alcoholic beverages.
  • Recognizes the symptoms of intoxication and informs a manager.
  • Represents the company and brand, professionally, graciously, and enthusiastically.
  • Able to multitask and complete other duties as assigned.
  • Represent and market PlumpJack in a positive and professional manner as requested and continually promote PlumpJack internally and externally by attending special events when requested and building relationships both on and off property.
  • Promote and comply with all policies and procedures of PlumpJack.
  • Immediately report all suspicious occurrences and hazardous conditions and avoid injury to self and others.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and safety of work areas and equipment.
  • Attend all mandatory meetings as directed.
  • Perform other tasks, including cross-training, as directed.
  • Adhere to the attendance and punctuality policy as outlined in the PlumpJack Employee Handbook. To report to work as scheduled and be prepared to start work.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor by wearing appropriate attire and maintaining good cleanliness.

Candidate requirements:


  • Minimum 1 year tasting room experience with polished professional hospitality experience.
  • Diplomatic and calm with strong verbal communication skills.
  • Courteous, friendly, and professional manner. Always creating a calm and kind environment.
  • Outreach and Concierge connections.
  • Good team player. Customer service focus. Able to work productively with little supervision. Trustworthy and reliable.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment
  • Strong understanding of core accounting concepts, data entry with a high level of detail.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office environment (Word, Excel), AMS, Commerce7, or other POS environments.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are a must
  • Must have sound judgment, versatility, and flexibility.
