What is an estate farm manager?

Estate Farm Managers are professionals responsible for overseeing the daily operations and management of large agricultural estates or farms. Their duties typically include supervising staff, planning crop or livestock production, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with agricultural regulations. They also coordinate planting and harvesting schedules, maintain equipment, and may handle marketing and sales of farm products. Estate Farm Managers play a crucial role in maximizing productivity and profitability while maintaining sustainable farming practices.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an estate farm manager?

To thrive as an Estate Farm Manager, you need expertise in agricultural operations, crop and livestock management, and a relevant degree or significant hands-on experience in farm management. Familiarity with farm management software, GPS-guided equipment, and compliance with agricultural regulations is typically required. Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills help in managing teams and coordinating with landowners, suppliers, and regulatory bodies. These skills are essential to ensure efficient production, profitability, and sustainability of the estate’s agricultural operations.

What are some common challenges faced by estate farm managers, and how can they be addressed?

Estate Farm Managers often encounter challenges such as managing large teams, dealing with unpredictable weather, and balancing profitability with sustainable farming practices. ABOUT US
We're a State Farm agency in Arvada built on long-term client relationships, not transactions. We service the entire state of Colorado and have plans to expand to neighboring states. As we grow our commercial lines focus, we're looking for someone who shares that approach - someone who builds trust before they build a book.
THE ROLE
This is a hybrid position with roughly half your time in our office collaborating with the team, and half in the field meeting commercial property owners face-to-face. You'll focus on specific commercial risks and you'll work closely with our producers and agency leadership, with full support, training, and mentorship as you grow into the role.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Connect with commercial property owners, property managers, and CRE brokers across the Denver metro
  • Get out into properties - walk strip malls, visit office parks, meet owners on their turf
  • Represent the agency at various trade shows, chamber events, and other industry functions for the purposes of networking
  • Partner with our licensed producers to bring opportunities across the finish line
  • Keep your pipeline organized in our CRM and share what's working with the team

WHAT YOU'LL BRING
  • Experience in commercial property management, commercial real estate, or business development (insurance background not required - we'll teach you what you need)
  • Comfort building rapport with business owners and property professionals
  • A high degree of autonomy, self-direction, and good judgment about how to spend your time
  • Reliable transportation and a clean driving record

WHAT WE OFFER
  • Base salary: $40,000-50,000 DOE
  • Milestone bonuses on premium produced and in-force renewals
  • Health benefits, paid time off
  • Flexibility on schedule as long as there are high level results
  • A supportive team and direct access to agency leadership as your mentor

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • 2+ years in commercial property management, commercial real estate, business development, or B2B sales
  • Demonstrated track record of building professional relationships or generating new business
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills, comfortable initiating conversations with business owners and decision-makers
  • Highly self-directed, able to manage your own schedule and stay productive with minimal supervision
  • Proficiency with basic technology (CRM, email, calendar, mobile apps)
  • Reliable transportation, valid Colorado driver's license, and a clean driving record
  • Able to work a hybrid schedule with regular field travel across the Denver metro
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Active Colorado Property & Casualty insurance license (or willingness to obtain within a defined window post-hire)
  • Direct experience working with commercial property owners, landlords, or CRE brokers
  • Familiarity with commercial lines insurance or lessor-risk exposures (strip malls, warehouses, office buildings)
  • Existing network of contacts in Denver-metro commercial real estate or property management
  • Experience with a CRM platform for pipeline and activity tracking
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, real estate, or a related field
  • History of meeting or exceeding sales/production goals

TO APPLY
Send a resume and a short note about a professional relationship you've built that you're proud of.
Compensation: $85,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
