We are seeking an ESS Technology Specialist 3 to join our Security and Electronic Systems (SES) business Unit. As part of (SES) Strategic Business Unit you will be part of a team that designs, engineers, integrates, operates and maintains electronic security services inclusive of intrusion detection, access control, biometric authentication, video surveillance, audio visual, it systems, perimeter defense and command and control systems for federal, local and commercial customers across high-growth markets.
Responsibilities
The ESS Tech Specialist 3 will demonstrate the following capabilities:
  • Ability to troubleshoot a wide variety of technical issues in the field; this is a technical assistance position first and foremost and requires a willingness and ability to respond to site issues as a priority and work with a wide variety of project teams, clients, and internal representatives.
  • Fluency with Windows Server operating systems, including server builds, Active Directory configuration including Group Policy Objects (GPOs), systems administration, troubleshooting, and extensive experience with Windows Server Roles and Features.
  • Database administration in a SQL Server environment including use of Management Studio
  • Experience with ancillary technologies for Windows Server including Hyper-V virtualization, storage management, and server failover and clustering
  • Ability to analyze system performance, troubleshoot system performance issues, resolve system problems, and recommend improvements
  • Strong foundational networking skills for Layer 2 / 3 in a Cisco or Juniper environment, firewall exception rules and access control list (ACL) creation and management
  • Familiarity with DISA STIGs, ACAS vulnerability scanning, and general Cybersecurity principles
  • Experience working with design engineers and system administrators
  • Ability to work directly with end user representatives in a professional setting
  • Ability to produce system documentation including system logicals and information flow diagrams in Visio; hardware / software lists in Excel; and generate SOPs and other documentation in MS Word
  • Knowledge of basic cabling types used for communication and security systems as well as basics of electronics technology
  • Ability to provide basic system training for users and other system support personnel
  • Conduct in depth research and evaluate the research of Technical Specialists in order to evaluate existing and future systems
  • Onsite system support including post deployment support
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and work as part of a design engineering team
  • Ability to understand SOP and SOW documentation
  • Maintaining enterprise and Cloud lab environments
  • Interfacing with internal and external customers demonstrating excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Conducting research and development of entire systems and analyze all interoperability and constructability scenarios\
  • Reading engineering designs, schematics, and Statements of Work (SOWs).
  • Ability to coordinate with field personnel and/or engineering team to resolve any potential installation issues
  • Answer support calls to help field personnel and system administrators with any installation issues encountered on the job site
  • Conducting research and development on new system manufacturers including Access Control Systems (ACS), Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), and Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) systems as well as underlying support infrastructure (server technology, PC hardware, LAN/WAN technologies, firewalls, IDS/IPS, etc.
  • Ability to perform all duties with minimal direct supervision

Qualifications
Clearance/Citizen Type: Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and may meet eligibility requirements, including U.S. Citizenship, for access to classified information; ACTIVE SECRET clearance with the ability to obtain a TOP SECRET/SCI clearance REQUIRED
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma with 10+ years of experience with installation, troubleshooting and/or testing of electronic security systems or
  • Associates with 8+ years of experience or
  • Bachelor's Degree with 5+ years experience or
  • Master's Degree with 3+ years experience
  • System administrator experience in performing triage on system problems, resolving the system problems, analyzing system data to prevent problems, and implementing new workstations and system extensions
  • Vendor certifications for electronic systems preferred
  • Reliable attendance at customer site during work hours required by customer
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes occasional nights and weekends
  • Ability to travel CONUS and OCONUS
  • Travel up to 50%
