Description
Job Description Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Legal Counsel to join our legal team supporting the company's operations in the United States and Canada. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of legal experience in the technology hardware industry, excellent communication skills, and a strong background in commercial transactions. This role will involve close collaboration with various departments and global teams to ensure legal compliance, mitigate risks, and streamline processes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts with vendors and customers including non-disclosure, distribution, sales, logistics, marketing, after-sales service, SaaS and purchase agreements.
  • Proactively identify and address potential legal risks in contracts, providing clear and actionable recommendations to stakeholders to support business objectives.
  • Collaborate closely with external counsel and internal teams to ensure timely and effective resolution of legal disputes.
  • Provide insightful advice and guidance on internal practices to promote and ensure compliance across the organization.
  • Create comprehensive training materials and resources to foster a culture of compliance and awareness within the organization.

Required Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) or foreign equivalent.
  • Admission to a US state bar and authorized to practice law in California.
  • 5+ years of relevant attorney experience.

Minimum Knowledge and Skills:
  • Deep understanding of contract law and excellent negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications
  • In-house legal department experience, especially in the technology hardware industry
  • Experience with technology products and components.
  • Experience in one or more of consumer protection, e-commerce, esports, privacy, and trade compliance law.
  • Litigation or compliance experience.
  • Proficiency in Chinese is a plus

Working Conditions:
Typically works in an office environment, involving sitting certain hours a day, lifting up to 15 pounds, etc.
$150,000-$165,000 annually is the estimated pay range for this role working in Fremont, California office. The final amount will be determined based on qualifications & experience of the candidate relative to the role.
