Part-Time Facilities Service Team Member
Accountable To: Manager of Facilities Services
Position Summary
The Part-Time Facilities Service Team Member helps provide a clean, safe, welcoming, and
well-prepared environment for church ministries, events, guests, and staff. Responsibilities
include custodial cleaning, room setup and teardown, hospitality, basic facility monitoring,
and security-related duties.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.
Primary Responsibilities
Cleaning & Facility Care
- Clean classrooms, meeting rooms, offices, hallways, and common areas.
- Collect, remove, and dispose of trash and recycling.
- Clean and restock restrooms.
- Clean kitchens and related service areas.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain various floor surfaces.
- Dust furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
- Clear entrances and walkways of debris, snow, or other hazards.
- Perform additional cleaning tasks as assigned.
Room Setups & Event Support
- Set up and tear down tables, chairs, and other equipment for events and ministry
activities.
- Prepare rooms according to event specifications.
- Use Espace facilities management software to review setup requirements.
- Assist with last-minute event needs and room adjustments.
Hospitality & Customer Service
- Welcome ministry leaders, volunteers, and guests.
- Ensure rooms are unlocked, properly arranged, and ready for use.
- Respond professionally to requests and help resolve facility-related concerns.
- Support a positive and hospitable environment throughout the campus.
Facility Security & Monitoring
- Arm and disarm building security systems as required.
- Monitor the facility for maintenance, safety, and security concerns.
- Submit maintenance requests when needed.
- Respond appropriately to issues that arise during assigned shifts.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to walk, stand, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, push, and pull throughout the
workday.
- Ability to work indoors and occasionally outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to safely use cleaning chemicals, equipment, and tools.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds occasionally and 50 pounds repeatedly.
- Ability to operate equipment requiring hand, finger, and arm coordination.
- Ability to communicate effectively and hear within normal ranges with or without
accommodation.
- Ability to see within normal ranges with or without accommodation.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to work cooperatively with staff and volunteers.
- Positive attitude and a servant-hearted approach to work.
- Ability to identify and address facility-related concerns proactively.
