Position Summary
The ESD Compliance Technician will be based in Austin, Tx reporting to the ESD Control Program Manager and is responsible for executing and maintaining the site Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) Control Program in accordance with ANSI/ESD S20.20 requirements and internal quality standards. This role supports regulatory compliance audit readiness, and continuous improvement initiatives by performing routine verification activities, assisting with audits, and ensuring adherence to ESD control procedures across production environments.

Shift: 8:00am-5:00pm (Monday-Friday)
The ESD Compliance Technician works cross-functionally with Quality Engineering, Operations, and Calibration teams to promote a strong ESD culture while minimizing disruption to production and ensuring consistent, risk-based compliance.
Key Responsibilities
โ€ข Perform routine ESD compliance inspections across production areas, including:
o Workstation verification (mats, grounds, wrist straps, monitors)
o Personnel grounding checks (heel straps, wrist straps)
o Equipment and tool compliance validation
โ€ข Execute scheduled audits in alignment with the site audit plan and assigned
modules
โ€ข Document audit results accurately in approved systems.
โ€ข Identify, document, and escalate nonconformances in accordance with defined
defect codes and severity classifications
โ€ข Conduct periodic ESD control checks, including:
o Resistance testing (bench mats, flooring, carts, etc..)

Continuous monitor functionality verification
โ€ข Support calibration coordination for ESD test equipment
โ€ข Verify proper labeling, signage, and grounding configurations within controlled
areas
โ€ข Assist in implementation of corrective actions to prevent recurrence of identified issues
โ€ข Support internal and external audits (e.g., ANSI/ESD S20.20 certification audits)
โ€ข Support Agency audits as required. (e.g., UL, CSA, TUV, etc.)
โ€ข Provide objective evidence during audits (logs, records, inspection data)
โ€ข Assist Quality Engineers with root cause investigations and CAPA activities
โ€ข Track and verify closure effectiveness of corrective actions
โ€ข Maintain accurate, real-time compliance records in electronic tracking systems
โ€ข Assist with compiling audit metrics and compliance trends
โ€ข Highlight recurring issues or risk areas to Quality leadership
โ€ข Support development of dashboards or reports for operational visibility
โ€ข Provide basic ESD awareness guidance to operators and technicians
โ€ข Reinforce proper use of ESD controls (e.g., grounding methods, workstation
setup)
โ€ข Support onboarding of new employees with ESD compliance expectations
โ€ข Promote a proactive, compliance-focused culture on the production floor
โ€ข Identify inefficiencies or gaps in ESD processes and recommend improvements
โ€ข Support implementation of program enhancements (automation, standardization)
โ€ข Participate in process improvement initiatives to streamline compliance activities
โ€ข Ensure improvements maintain audit defensibility while reducing operational burden
Required Qualifications

โ€ข High school diploma or equivalent required
โ€ข 1-3 years of experience in manufacturing, quality, or compliance-related role
โ€ข Basic understanding of ESD principles or willingness to learn ANSI/ESD S20.20 requirements
โ€ข Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standardized procedures
โ€ข Effective documentation and recordkeeping skills
โ€ข Ability to work independently in a production environment with minimal
supervision
โ€ข Basic computer proficiency (Excel, data entry systems, digital tracking tools)

Preferred Qualifications
โ€ข Experience with ESD control programs or ANSI/ESD S20.20 compliance
environments
โ€ข Prior experience performing audits, inspections, or quality checks
โ€ข Familiarity with defect classification systems and CAPA processes
โ€ข Experience using digital compliance tools (e.g., Microsoft Lists, Power BI
dashboards)
โ€ข Understanding of resistance testing methods and use of ESD test equipment
โ€ข Experience working in regulated or audited environments (ISO 9001, AS9100,
etc.)
โ€ข Strong communication skills with ability to interact effectively with production
personnel and leadership
โ€ข Lean / continuous improvement experience or mindset
