The Commercial Loan Servicing Associate is responsible for overseeing insurance and real estate tax related activities for Webster Bank's real estate secured loan portfolio.
This role supports loan administration functions by partnering with relationship managers, insurance agents, and third-party vendors while maintaining accurate records for hazard, flood, and general liability insurance. In addition, the Associate also supports escrow operations, including real estate tax payments, escrow analysis, system maintenance, research requests, and other daily functions within the Escrow Department. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

What you will do

  • Maintain accurate insurance records (flood, hazard, and general liability) within the core loan servicing system and third-party vendor platforms
  • Review, analyze, and reconcile insurance vendor reports to ensure data accuracy and timely resolution of issues
  • Monitor insurance coverage to identify expirations, discrepancies, or lapses and take appropriate corrective action
  • Track, monitor, and maintain flood insurance coverage on all applicable loans to ensure continuous compliance with regulatory and bank requirements
  • Reconcile flood insurance data between internal systems and vendor platforms, researching and resolving variances
  • Coordinate with relationship managers, insurance agents, and vendors to obtain missing or deficient insurance documentation
  • Assist with the resolution of insurancerelated issues, including forceplaced flood insurance processes
  • Process, track, and reconcile force-placed insurance invoices
  • Process insurance payments for escrowed commercial loans, ensuring timely and accurate payments to insurance agencies to avoid cancellations
  • Respond to internal and external insurancerelated inquiries, audits, and research requests
  • Set up and manage property loss files (e.g., fire damage), including:
    • Collecting insurance and contractor documentation
    • Coordinating with customers, contractors, and inspectors
    • Ensuring completion of work and releasing funds upon final inspection
  • Process real estate tax payments for escrowed commercial loans, ensuring timely and accurate payments to taxing authorities to avoid penalties, interest, or lien risk
  • Perform annual and interim escrow analyses, including payment projections, shortage/overage calculations, and payment adjustments
  • Investigate and resolve escrow discrepancies, including misapplied payments, duplicate payments, refunds
  • Establish, maintain, and update commercial loans in vendor platform, including new loan boarding, loan modifications, renewals, and payoffs
  • Review tax delinquency reports and collaborate with Relationship Managers to resolve issues
  • Manage escrow overage refunds and process borrower disbursements in accordance with policy and regulatory requirements
  • Respond to internal and external taxrelated inquiries, audits, and research requests
  • Process, track, and reconcile Tax Monitoring Fee invoices
  • Ensure all loans are properly set up and maintained in loan servicing systems and third-party vendor platforms
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Support system maintenance, research requests, and other departmental functions as assigned

Education Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience will be considered

Experience Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in real estate administration, loan servicing, or a related financial services role

The estimated salary range for this position is $32.12 USD to $37.12 USD. Actual salary may vary up or down depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position is eligible for incentive compensation
