MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUBSTITUTE AIDE:
  • High school diploma or equivalent;
  • Educational Aide Permit issued by the Ohio Department of Education
  • Current BCI & FBI background checks (completed within the last 365 days and on file with the Ohio Department of Education);
  • Letters of reference.

The Summit ESC provides substitute aide opportunities in both full day and half day assignments. As a substitute aide, you are eligible to serve in any capacity that includes paraprofessional classroom assistant and student attendant opportunities. Substitutes are encouraged to read the following information carefully as we offer two different sub programs.
When you have completed your application, have current license and background check and submitted the requested information, you will need to contact Summit ESC at 330.945.5600 to schedule an in-person meeting with an HR representative. Once material has been reviewed and verified, you will be eligible to sub in various district programs listed below.
PROGRAM #1
Summit ESC provides a substitute list for the following districts. We will verify your eligibility for subbing and pass your information over to the district. You are then responsible for contacting the districts regarding substitute work. Each district listed below may hire you directly at which time you would complete payroll paperwork. Pay rate varies by district.

PROGRAM #2 - Employment through Renhill Group
Substitutes for the programs and districts listed in this section are employed by our partner Renhill Group, through the Summit ESC. If you are interested in subbing for these programs and districts, you will be complete a Renhill application at your in-person meeting at Summit ESC.
