We are seeking an experienced ERP Business Analyst to support our construction and manufacturing operations. This role focuses on ERP systems and business processes related to finance, procurement, and project accounting, with a strong emphasis on data mapping, integrations, and reporting. 

This position will be part of Flynn's IT department and report to the Director, ERP Systems.

Responsibilities:
  • Analyze and support ERP modules related to: 
      - Project and Job Cost Accounting 
      - Manufacturing Costing 
      - Procurement and Vendor Management 
      - Accounts Payable and Receivable 
      - General Ledger and Financial Reporting 
      - Flexible Billing and Revenue Recognition 
      - Inventory Management 

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather business requirements and translate them into ERP configurations or enhancements.
  • Ensure ERP system compliance with US and Canadian tax regulations, including GST/HST, VAT, and sales/use tax.

  • Support data mapping, data validation, and integration testing between ERP and third-party systems (e.g., payroll, CRM, and project management). 

  • Assist in creating and maintaining reports and dashboards using ERP-native tools or BI platforms (e.g., Power BI, SSRS). 

  • Participate in ERP implementations, upgrades, and module rollouts. 

  • Provide user training, documentation, and ongoing support. 

  • Lead workshops and document business requirements to help design, build and configure an ERP solution focused on Flynn's differentiating business requirements. 

  • Strong business knowledge on purchase requisitions, workflow approvals, purchase order creation, AP invoice automation, inventory management and manufacturing. General finance knowledge is also beneficial.

  • Prepare functional specifications, prototype defined functionality and assist in change management associated with ERP roll-outs.

  • Assist with legacy ERP data mapping and data cleansing tasks during the implementation.

  • Work closely with the ERP leadership team, Business Process Owners, other Business Analysts and IT management teams to ensure project progress on agreed timelines and meet key business objectives and success criteria.

  • Participate in different phases of testing the ERP, including documentation and owning the creation of test cases and test scripts.

  • Provide instructor-led training either virtually or in a classroom session to end users as needed. Help with training content and keep it up to date.

  • Participate in future enhancement projects from conception to implementation, including interacting with internal developers and/or 3rd party systems integrators.

  • Perform day-to-day troubleshooting and support of in-house built and procured systems.

  • Develop/update materials for training end/key users, i.e. appropriate system process documentation, procedures and/or work instructions.

  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities. 

 
What we are Seeking:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain, Information Systems, or a related field. 

  • 3-5+ years of experience in ERP business analysis, preferably in the construction or manufacturing industry. 

  • Experience with ERP systems such as Infor LN, IFS, Microsoft Dynamics, CMiC, Oracle, or SAP. 

  • Minimum 5 years' experience working as a Business Analyst. 

  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience as an IT Business Analyst, on large and complex technology projects, preferably in the Construction or Manufacturing industries. 

  • Proven experience in Master Data Management, Finance (AR, GL, AP, billing, tax compliance), Procurement (AP, vendor management, purchasing, inventory), Services, Manufacturing, Inventory, and Subcontract Management business processes. 

  • Knowledge of Customer, Vendor data and Product data management processes is an asset. 

  • Experienced with multi-year ERP implementation such as Microsoft Dynamics (any flavour), INFOR LN, JD Edwards or similar. 

  • Experienced with software development lifecycle methodology from Requirement Gathering, Design, Testing, Documentation Training, through Implementation and Post Go-Live Support. 

  • Strong working knowledge of Agile project delivery. 

  • Proven background in guiding business users on solutions leveraging industry-leading practices. 

  • Experience working with external consultants and solution architects. 

  • Knowledge of US and Canadian tax rules relevant to construction and manufacturing. 

  • Comfortable working with data mapping, data validation, and basic reporting tools. 

  • Familiarity with ERP data structures and integration concepts (e.g., APIs, ETL tools). 

  • Ability to collaborate with both business and technical teams on system enhancements and data flows.

  • Ability to present information clearly and concisely to different levels of the organization, both written and verbal. 

  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills. 

  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail. 

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently. 

Preferred Certifications: 

  • ECBA certification is an asset from the International Institute of Business Analyst (IIBA).
