These analysis, measurement and control products are essential for gas leak detection in air conditioning/refrigeration and automotive manufacturing. They are vital to equipment manufacturers and end-users in the complex fabrication of semiconductors and thin film coatings for optics, flat panel displays, solar cells and industrial vacuum coating applications. Other users of our vacuum-based processes include the life sciences, research, aerospace, packaging, heat treatment, laser cutting and many other industrial processes. We also leverage our expertise in vacuum technology to provide unique, toxic chemical analysis products for emergency response, security, and environmental health and safety.
Job Description
The ERP Data Strategy Engineer is responsible for leading the existing ERP Data Specialist team in solving problems related to existing SAP manufacturing data setup and providing technical guidance related to SAP best practices. This individual will also play a key role on INFICON's SAP 4/HANA transformation team and will be responsible for assessing, analyzing and validating the manufacturing data for the America region. This role will also help to lead major SAP and other associated manufacturing software-related improvement initiatives. This individual will need to be a detail-orientated individual who has a proven track record of problem solving and a resourceful mentality.
Essential Job Duties
Specific duties include, but are not necessarily limited to the following:
  • Provide trouble-shooting and technical guidance to the ERP Data Specialists on SAP and other related issues they encounter during engineering change implementation and production-floor related issues
  • Perform root-cause/corrective investigations on SAP related issues on the production-floor related to items such as inventory discrepancies, material allocations, cost-variances & work-instruction discrepancies
  • Work as a major member on INFICON's SAP 4/HANA implementation team - this is expected to take a minimum of 50% of the individuals time for the duration of the project and the individual will report in a dotted-line manner to the 4/HANA Data Governance Project team lead. The work on this project will consist of items such as the following:
  • Support data integrity and process alignment within SAP as part of the S/4HANA transformation
  • Collaborate with the global governance team to develop documentation & maintenance strategies for master data responsibilities along with any associated business processes
  • Assist in data migration activities by analyzing current-state data, performing data uploads & validations along with any associated troubleshooting and assessment of overall plant readiness
  • Support training efforts to help end-users understand processes, impacts and relevant data prior to implementation/go-live
  • Up to 10% travel for the project role duration (2026 to 2028)
  • Act as the technical project lead in the implementation of the full functionality across the organization of the SAP Engineering Change workflow process
  • Develop and maintain template files, best-practice guides & other ERP related items that improve standardization and overall data integrity practices within the team
  • Act as the intermediary between the ERP Data Specialist team and INFICON's Global SAP team and become the regional Subject Matter Expert (SME) on SAP manufacturing related topics
  • Provide guidance on data-structure and best-practices and ways of working as INFICON begins the roll-out and usage of a new Manufacturing Execution Software (MES) solution
  • Work to recommend and implement standardizations on production floor digitization-related items such as bar-code, serialization & associated software tools
  • Work to ensure both internal & external customers are satisfied with the team's response in dealing with the inevitable SAP and other associated manufacturing data related issues that arise in a manufacturing organization
  • Work jointly on a near-daily basis with INFICON's production & Global SAP teams

Qualifications
Education and/or Experience
  • Demonstrated experience as a power-user of an ERP system(s) and deep familiarity with Engineering Changes, BOMs, routings & production work orders, preferably in a low-volume, high-mix manufacturing organization with customer-configurable product offerings
  • Minimal requirement Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline and 5+ years of experience or the equivalent combination of education, training & experience
  • Experience with SAP is strongly preferred - experience with similar ERP systems is acceptable provided the individual has a demonstrated ability of being strong at self-education on software systems/capabilities
  • Demonstrated ability to develop methods of entry/edits of large ERP datasets
  • Preferred experience generating data queries to investigate and make data edits/loads on a large-scale basis

Additional Information
A reasonable estimate of the current range is: $85,000 to $110,000. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law. In addition, INFICON employees are eligible for a profit-sharing bonus with a target of 10% as well as 401K match up to 8% (vesting schedule).
