Job description

With the assistance of management, lead the development, implementation, and oversight of the Operations and Maintenance business unit compliance program for Electric Reliability Organization (ERO) Reliability Standards. Serve as the subject matter expert for the ERO Compliance Program for the Protection and Control (PRC) Standards, Critical Infrastructure and Protection (CIP) Standards, COM, TOP, EOP, PER, and other applicable business unit ERO Standards as may be determined. Coordinate the maintenance of adequate and auditable documentation to meet the requirements and measures of all applicable business unit ERO Standards. Accountable for the technical content of self-certification, periodic submittals and filings, management updates, responses to regulatory advisories and inquiries, ballots, and, with input from management, comments to new and revised standards. Assist with project initiatives to ensure maintenance, communications protocols, and critical infrastructure processes are consistent with requirements of applicable business unit ERO Standards. Represent the Corporation on internal and external teams, committees, and industry groups. Promote a culture of regulatory compliance and continuous improvement.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education: B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
Experience:
ERO Compliance Specialist I - Minimum of six (6) years of progressive engineering experience (four with a PE license), ERO Compliance Specialist II - Minimum of eight (8) years of progressive engineering experience (six with a PE license), ERO Compliance Specialist III - Minimum of ten (10) years of progressive engineering experience (eight with a PE license), in an electric power system environment with at least four years in system protection, relay and control design and/or substation testing at the bulk electric system level.
Equivalent Experience:
ERO Compliance Specialist I: B.S. Degree - Technical (8 years' experience in a power system environment or compliance, auditing, or risk management). B.S. Degree - Other (9 years' experience in a power system environment or compliance, auditing, or risk management). Associate's degree - Technical (10 years' experience in a power system environment or compliance, auditing, or risk management). Non-degree (14 years' experience in a power system environment or compliance, auditing, or risk management).
ERO Compliance Specialist II: B.S. Degree - Technical (10 years' experience in a power system environment or compliance, auditing, or risk management). B.S. Degree - Other (11 years' experience in a power system environment or compliance, auditing, or risk management). Associate's degree - Technical (12 years' experience in a power system environment or compliance, auditing, or risk management). Non-degree (16 years' experience in a power system environment or compliance, auditing, or risk management).
ERO Compliance Specialist III: B.S. Degree - Technical (12 years' experience in a power system environment or compliance, auditing, or risk management). B.S. Degree - Other (13 years' experience in a power system environment or compliance, auditing, or risk management). Associate's degree - Technical (14years' experience in a power system environment or compliance, auditing, or risk management). Non-degree (18 years' experience in a power system environment or compliance, auditing, or risk management)
Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations: EIT Certification and/or PE preferred. Must be able to pass all requirements for GTC to work on and around cyber assets.
Specialized Skills (e.g., typing, computers, software, tools and equipment uses, etc.):
Excellent computer skills, excellent oral and written communication skills with all levels of the organization, strong interpersonal and team dynamic skills, strong organizational and negotiation skills, self starter with solid integrity and the ability to provide directions and attention to detail. Understanding of electric system technical system protection and operations issues as they relate to FERC, ERO and Regional Entity compliance requirements.
Must be able to pass a NERC CIP personnel risk assessment screening.
