Company Overview
Ontivity EasTex Tower is actively seeking motivated and safety-focused Microwave Tower Technicians to join our growing team. We specialize in wireless infrastructure construction, microwave backhaul systems, tower modifications, and network deployments throughout the United States.
We are looking for Tower Technician I and II candidates with experience in microwave radio installations, elliptical waveguide installation, antenna systems, and tower construction. This position offers the opportunity to work on critical communications infrastructure while advancing your skills in one of the fastest-growing sectors of the telecommunications industry.

Pay Range: $20-$30 per hour (based on experience)
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
• Climb and work safely on communication towers and structures of varying heights.
• Install, secure, and weatherproof microwave radios, antennas, mounts, and support hardware.
• Install, route, support, and terminate elliptical waveguide, coaxial transmission lines and hybrid lines.
• Perform microwave path alignment using test equipment and manufacturer specifications.
• Install and maintain cable ladders, ice bridges, grounding systems, and associated infrastructure.
• Assist with commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting microwave communication systems.
• Perform tower modifications, structural upgrades, and equipment replacements.
• Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of microwave and cellular sites.
• Assist with sweep testing, PIM testing, fiber testing, and other site verification activities.
• Read and interpret construction drawings, path studies, equipment specifications, and installation standards.
• Identify safety hazards and maintain compliance with company, customer, and industry safety requirements.
• Maintain professional communication with customers, vendors, and team members.
• Uphold workmanship standards that exceed customer and industry expectations.
• Continue technical education and training to stay current with evolving wireless technologies.
Preferred Experience
• Microwave radio installation and commissioning
• Elliptical waveguide installation and connectorization
• Antenna and line installation
• Tower construction and modifications
• Fiber optic installation and testing
• RF testing and troubleshooting
• Carrier wireless infrastructure experience
• Knowledge of Ericsson, Aviat, Nokia, Ceragon, DragonWave, or similar microwave systems

Work Environment & Physical Demands
The physical demands described below are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position:
• Frequent work in outdoor environments and adverse weather conditions
• Regular climbing and working at heights up to and exceeding 500 feet
• Frequent lifting, carrying, and maneuvering materials and equipment weighing 50 pounds or more
• Ability to safely handle microwave antennas, waveguide sections, radios, and rigging equipment
• Frequent use of hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and climbing gear
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, and perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods
• Daily travel and extended travel assignments ranging from several days to multiple weeks
Required Knowledge & Qualifications
• Thorough understanding of tower safety and 100% tie-off procedures
• Basic rigging knowledge and safe lifting practices
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to interpret technical documentation
• Familiarity with microwave transmission systems preferred
• Knowledge of grounding and bonding practices
• Experience using basic hand and power tools
• Valid Driver's License required
• Ability to obtain DOT medical certification
• CDL Class A license preferred
