What does an Ericsson Field Engineer do?

An Ericsson Field Engineer is responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting telecommunications equipment and networks, particularly those manufactured by Ericsson. They work on-site at cell towers, data centers, and customer locations to ensure network performance and reliability. Their duties often include configuring hardware and software, performing upgrades, and resolving technical issues. Field Engineers also conduct routine inspections and collaborate with other teams to support the deployment and optimization of Ericsson's telecom solutions.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an Ericsson Field Engineer, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Ericsson Field Engineer, you need a solid background in telecommunications, network infrastructure, and RF engineering, often supported by a relevant degree or technical certification. Familiarity with Ericsson network equipment, site installation tools, and network management systems such as OSS is typically required. Strong problem-solving abilities, teamwork, and effective communication are crucial soft skills in this role. These skills and qualifications are essential to ensure reliable network performance, efficient troubleshooting, and seamless coordination on field projects.

How much is the salary of a field engineer?
