The successful candidate will be hired as an ERCOT Settlement Specialist or Senior ERCOT Settlement Specialist, depending on the selected candidate's qualifications and experience.
ERCOT Settlement Specialist Job Description

Summary

Responsible for analyzing general ERCOT electric power market settlement issues including data collection/validation, billing, disputes and power mismatches.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Gather, analyze and validate all load, generation, purchased power, ancillary service and financial data.

  • Ensure that ERCOT power market settlement data and documents are correct, accurate, timely, and are applied as per market protocols.

  • Prepare reports on an ad hoc basis, daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, etc. as needed.

  • Analyze, prepare and deliver ERCOT power market invoices for review, payment, and receipt of market transactions.

  • Prepare and review Wholesale Customer bills.

  • Prepare TCOS billing and/or process TCOS invoices for payment

  • Determine if power market settlement issues need to be disputed with ERCOT.

  • Analyze, monitor and compile all EPS Meter data for the QSE and Sub QSEs.

  • Prepare and submit appropriate dispute documents to ERCOT, with supporting backup information, within the mandated 10-day deadline.

  • Perform various other duties as delegated/required.,,

Minimum Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 2 years related experience

  • Considerable knowledge of Microsoft Excel

Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

Preferred Qualifications

Education/ Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related area of study

  • 2-4 years electrical industry experience

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Summary

Responsible for leading the administration of all ERCOT electric power market Settlement issues including data collection/validation, billing, disputes and power mismatches.

  • Facilitate the review and analysis of ERCOT Settlement invoices to determine if invoices are valid.

  • Responsible for filing settlement disputes and supporting documentation with ERCOT within the mandated 10-day deadline.

  • Responsible for validation, analysis, and reporting of settlements data resulting from daily wholesale activities.

  • Prepare and review Wholesale Customer bills

  • Analyze and prepare Commercial and Industrial data and documents for monthly billing and ERCOT reporting.

  • Prepare TCOS billing and/or process TCOS invoices for payment

  • Analyze, prepare and deliver invoices for financial gas hedges, bilateral counterparties and energy broker deals of ERCOT market transactions.

  • Analyze, monitor and compile data for the Garland and Sub QSEs including but not limited to EPS Meter Data, SCADA Data, Third-Party external data, etc.

  • Review, prepare and analyze Renewable Energy data for both Garland and sub QSEs, also working with PPA participants.

  • Perform various generation, transmission, market studies, and/or administrative duties as delegated/required.

Minimum Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 5 years related experience

  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel

Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

Preferred Qualifications

Education/ Experience:
