Job description

A Clinical Pharmacist opportunity is available at a 267-bed hospital in Fort Walton Beach, FL. The facility offers an Advanced Primary Stroke Center, a Cancer Care Center, open-heart surgery services, and emergency care through a main ER, a pediatric ER, and two freestanding ERs.

The role. In this position, you will interpret, verify, and accurately transcribe orders into the pharmacy computer system while compounding and dispensing pharmaceuticals with precision. You will monitor drug therapy regimens for contraindications, drug-drug interactions, drug-food interactions, allergies, and overall appropriateness of drug selection and dosing. A key part of the role involves sustaining the hospital formulary by minimizing nonformulary procurements, utilizing therapeutic interchanges, and promoting rational drug therapy selection. You will also support clinical services including drug consults, pharmacokinetics, anticoagulant monitoring, pain management, IV-to-PO conversions, and renal dosing, while providing accurate and timely medication information to healthcare staff and patients. Documentation of all clinical activities, interventions, and medication error or adverse drug reaction notifications is an integral part of this role.

What we're looking for.

  • B.S. or PharmD from an ACPE accredited School of Pharmacy required.
  • Active pharmacist license in good standing with the appropriate Florida State Board of Pharmacy.
  • 1+ years of hospital pharmacist experience preferred; candidates with PGY1 completion will also be considered.

Schedule. Days with rotating weekends.

Compensation. $52.00 - $52.00/hr
