Job Description:
DHHS Nebraska is seeking a Program Manager for our Tobacco Free Nebraska Program.
Tobacco Free Nebraska is our state's comprehensive tobacco prevention program.
With our coalitions and other partners across the state, we want to help people quit tobacco, eliminate exposure to secondhand smoke and aerosol, protect our youth by keeping them from using tobacco, including e-cigarettes, and identify and eliminate health disparities related to commercial tobacco product use.

Job Duties:
The Tobacco Free Nebraska Program Manager will
  • Manage TFN staff activities and programs within the Public Health Division.
  • Ensure staff achieves program goals and policy compliance.
  • Ensure work complies with agency, federal, and State regulations.
  • Plan and manage resources for program operation and maintenance.
  • Prepare grant applications, plans, amendments, and evaluation reports.
  • Monitor grant activity and budgets to meet fiscal and program goals.
  • Develop budgets for program activities, staffing, facilities, and equipment.
  • Contribute to agency policy development on organizational and financial issues.
  • Recommend updates to statutes, rules, policies, and procedures to improve programs.
  • Communicate with leadership and staff to resolve administrative issues.
  • Promote total quality management and organizational change initiatives.
  • Encourage teamwork through problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Develops and coordinates innovate program related to pilot projects or services.

Salary: $30.500 to start. $32.025 after successful completion of original probation.
Requirements / Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in business or public administration, social/behavioral sciences, education, health sciences, public health, education, law or related field and one year experience in program planning, implementation, budgeting, monitoring, evaluating, marketing a program or service and supervising/managing staff. Related coursework, training and/or education may substitute for the Bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications: Supervisory experience as well as demonstrated grant writing and program development experience.
