We deploy capital in areas where we can utilise our comparative advantages, namely a long investment horizon, global presence, sector expertise, and skilled, experienced teams.

Special Opportunities Group

The Special Opportunities Group has a global mandate focused on 1) investments that are defensive and uncorrelated in nature, and 2) dislocation-triggered opportunities. These include stressed/distressed debt, real assets, royalties, insurance, structured credit, and opportunistic special situations, amongst others. You will also have the opportunity to help research and develop new investment themes.

What impact can you make in this role?

You will be part of a team that is one of the largest, and most established private equity investors in the world today. As this is a growing strategy for GIC, you will have a unique opportunity to help research and develop investment themes. You will gain broad exposure and work across fund investments, direct investments, and coโ€‘investments. You will handle responsibilities spanning from investment underwriting and selection to meeting and developing relationships with funds and companies.

Due diligence involves evaluating the fund managerโ€™s strategy, track record, investment and execution capabilities, as well as culture and alignment. It also involves meeting and appraising senior management at top investment firms.
