Global Markets Technology builds and maintains software solutions used by Global Markets Front and Middle office businesses. The business is spread across EMEA, US, Japan, AEJ, and emerging Markets like India, Brazil, and China. It deals in a wide range of products including FX, Rates, Credit, Securitised Products, Equities, Futures & Options, FI/EQ Derivatives, and Prime Services including financing.

GMIT London team is an integral part of the global team - which is spread across US, UK, Tokyo, Singapore, HK, India and China. It works in partnership with the regions to deliver technology solutions to the GM business, which are prioritised in the Global Book of Work. This team serves key business functions such as Pricing, Sales & Research (Pre-Trade), Electronic Trading, Client & Exchange Connectivity (Trading related), Trade Capture & Workflow, Trade Life Cycle Management (Post-Trade), MIS (pre and post trade analysis), Position, Risk Management and P&L (real-time, intraday and EOD), Interfaces to Corporate Settlement, Risk and Finance systems.

Role Description:

Role Summary: Lead the development and delivery of agile trading technology solutions for Prime and Equities desks. Responsible for translating complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions while managing a small development team and maintaining direct stakeholder relationships with trading desks.

Key Responsibilities:

This role sits within the Equities Technology Team, part of Global Markets Technology, supporting the Equities Risk platform-currently undergoing significant modernisation and enhancement program. The team builds and maintains software solutions for Equities Global Markets Front and Middle Office businesses. With developers located across major financial centres (US, UK, Tokyo, Hong Kong, and India) and Business Analysts distributed globally.

This is primarily a Business Analyst role with some project management responsibilities. The successful candidate will lead the analysis, definition, and documentation of business requirements for strategic Equities Risk initiatives, while also providing project oversight and reporting to support programme delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business analysis for Global Equities strategic initiatives, translating business needs into detailed, well-structured requirements
  • Partner with stakeholders across Front Office, Middle Office, and Technology to elicit, define, and prioritise requirements
  • Produce comprehensive business requirements documentation, functional specifications, and process flows
  • Analyse existing workflows and identify opportunities for improvement as part of the platform modernisation
  • Partner with development and testing teams to ensure a detailed understanding of requirements and design from analysis through development to testing
  • Manage scope and prioritisation of workstreams driven by both internal needs and external demands
  • Define acceptance criteria and support test strategy definition and UAT coordination
  • Build strong relationships with the global Equities business, facilitating effective communication and collaboration across regions

Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required:

  • Degree from an accredited university
  • Strong business analysis experience in Equities, with demonstrable ability to produce high-quality requirements documentation
  • Knowledge of equities models, risk metrics, products, and lifecycle
  • Experience working on complex technology delivery programmes across multiple business areas
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, including the ability to adapt to different audiences
  • Experience managing risks, issues, and dependencies within a project context
  • Ability to work effectively across global teams and time zones
  • Project management experience or certification (e.g. Prince2, PMP, Agile)
  • Experience defining test strategies and leading test execution
  • Exposure to DevOps tools (e.g. JIRA, Confluence) to manage project deliverables and requirements traceability
  • Experience in defining target state architectures working with technology and enterprise architects
  • Ability to ensure implementations meet firm-wide technology objectives
