Job description

Responsibilities

Allan Myers is looking for an experienced, dedicated, and hard-working individual to serve as a technical advisor on all vehicle and equipment issues regarding the Allan Myers fleet. This individual schedules and manages maintenance and assists the management team with maintaining equipment budgets and potential equipment acquisitions and disposals. Coordinates and assists with the implementation of department strategies and initiatives. Conducts work in accordance with all Allan Myers policies, procedures, and programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Serves as a technical advisor to shop & field mechanics and employees for all vehicle and equipment maintenance.
  • Manages effective vehicle and equipment maintenance, repair, and safety practices.
  • Assists with management of telematic systems to ensure they are reporting accurately.
  • Assists with the tracking of all maintenance and inspection events to ensure records are complete, accurate and compliant.
  • Assists with maintaining maintenance records.
  • Effectively trains, coaches, and develops employees to achieve and maintain positive working relationship within the shop. Applies appropriate influence while adhering to established policies and procedures.
  • Makes quick, rational decisions while striving for innovation and efficiencies within the department.
  • Performs additional duties as requested by management.
  • Communicates, models, and continuously reinforces the Allan Myers culture and leadership practices with direct reports, including Allan Myers Values, Safety, Delay-Free Production, Ethics Police, and the Collaborative Way.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma required, technical school degree in Diesel or Automotive preferred.
  • 5-10 years of experience in construction equipment maintenance (such as master mechanic or equipment management), or equivalent combination of technical training and experience.
  • Must possess practical knowledge of the function, operation, and maintenance of construction equipment and related vehicles.
  • Proficient with equipment related diagnostic software.
  • Must have ability to work independently, professionally, and under pressure.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suites (Excel and Outlook, in particular).
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with office and field personnel.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
