Job Overview:
Manager of Bill of Materials (BOM) is responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of product structural data, ensuring accuracy, version control, and alignment across engineering, purchasing, and manufacturing teams. This role maintains, creates, and updates BOMs and components within ERP systems while managing engineering and design changes to support production efficiency, data integrity, and cost-effective operations
Key Responsibilities
  • BOM Creation and Maintenance: Build and maintain detailed, accurate BOMs for new and existing products, including assemblies, subassemblies, and components.
  • Component part creation and maintenance: Load and manage component parts in the ERP system.
  • Engineering Change Management: Implement engineering change orders (ECOs) and revisions to ensure BOM accuracy.
  • System Integrity: Oversee BOM data within ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems to ensure consistency across departments.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain, resolve discrepancies, identify substitute parts, and optimize manufacturing processes.
  • Cost Control: Support cost calculation activities by ensuring accurate material and component data.
  • Excess and Obsolete Inventory: Support the evaluation of activities of the E&O process.

Required Qualifications & Skills
  • Experience: Previous experience in BOM management, engineering documentation, or supply chain. Bachelor's degree in engineering or supply chain management preferred.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (e.g., Epicor version 2024.2 preferred) and PLM software.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in managing large sets of data and component specifications.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
  • Communication: Ability to work with multiple teams and coordinate changes effectively.
