Schedule: 8, 10 or 12-hour shifts, variable scheduled days
Your role with us
As a per diem CT technologist at West Valley Hospital, part of the Salem Health system, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging to the Dallas, Oregon community within a close-knit, collaborative hospital setting. Our imaging services support the inpatient and emergency departments 24/7, with outpatient services operating Monday through Friday and occasional weekend coverage. West Valley Hospital is known for its small hospital feel, where teams are well connected, communication is strong, and your contributions are seen and valued every day.
Our department utilizes GE fluoroscopy equipment and fully integrated Epic/Radiant systems, ensuring alignment with Salem Health's standards, technology, and quality of care.This role is ideal for an experienced CT technologist who is comfortable working independently, adaptable to changing needs, and a thoughtful team player. What you'll do
  • Perform a full range of CT exams, selecting appropriate imaging protocols.
  • When needed, gather additional patient history or perform supplemental images beyond standard protocols to support clinical diagnosis.
  • Use sound clinical judgment and patient assessment skills to adapt procedures to the patient's needs, condition, and level of cooperation.
  • Accurately document patient history, signs and symptoms, and scan details.
  • Input orders and charges into EPIC and ensure records are complete and compliant with departmental standards.
  • Safely operate all imaging equipment per manufacturer guidelines.
  • Perform routine cleaning and care of equipment and report any malfunctions promptly through appropriate channels.
  • Utilize Radiant, PACS, and EPIC systems to manage orders, access prior studies, and ensure smooth workflow across imaging processes.
  • Follow all ALARA principles and departmental radiation safety procedures.
  • Adhere to medication reconciliation protocols and maintain stocked, organized procedure rooms.
  • Maintain excellent communication and interpersonal skills to support teamwork across the department.

Required qualifications
  • Graduate from an imaging technology program approved by licensing bodies.
  • Licensed in Computed Tomography (CT) by the Oregon Board of Medical Imaging (OBMI).
  • Registered in Computed Tomography (CT) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
