Location: Houston, TX (General Area)

Position Type: Full-Time | Mid-Level

Reports To: Manager, Information Systems Department

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Epic Application Analyst (ClinDoc) to support and optimize Epic applications to enhance clinical workflows and operational efficiency within a large healthcare health system.

In this role, you will analyze user needs, configure and maintain system functionality, manage support tickets, and participate in system upgrades, testing, and implementations. You will partner closely with clinical and operational teams—including nursing, mother-baby, and rehab—to troubleshoot issues, improve documentation processes, and ensure effective system utilization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analysis & Design: Translate clinical and operational user requests into actionable Epic software solutions and technical specifications.
  • Build & Optimization: Perform basic to intermediate system analysis, design, configuration, build, testing, and implementation for assigned Epic clinical documentation modules.
  • Application Support: Provide ongoing technical consultation, troubleshooting, and end-user support. Participate in a rotating 24/7 on-call schedule for after-hours application support.
  • Project Ownership: Manage assigned technical project tasks, set priorities with moderate supervision, and ensure system integration into effective clinical workflows.
  • Reporting & Solutions: Utilize system development tools to deploy queries, reports, and moderately complex solutions within Epic and integrated health information systems.

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Epic Certification: Valid Epic Certification required (ClinDoc certification preferred; other Epic certifications considered alongside hands-on ClinDoc experience).
  • Epic Build Experience: Minimum of 2 years of hands-on work experience with Epic system build.
  • Project Experience: Proven experience taking project ownership of Epic application initiatives (experience in a large corporate healthcare organization strongly preferred).

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

  • Education: Associate degree preferred.
  • Certifications: Epic Clinical Documentation, Rehab, or Stork certifications.
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in system development, design, and implementation across complex Healthcare Management Information Systems (MIS).
  • Technical & Soft Skills:
  • Strong ticket queue management and upgrade support skills.
  • Solid analytical abilities, technical aptitude, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and customer service skills in high-volume environments.

  2. Which Epic modules are you certified in, and what specific experience do you have with ClinDoc?
