Job description

Temple University Health System seeks EPIC BI Developer II in Philadelphia, PA to work with business owners and IT to translate business needs into Business Intelligence (BI) requirements for designing and developing reporting and analytic solutions.  Develop analytic solutions using BI reporting tools such as Clarity and the Epic Cogito Suite.  Focus of the role is on the Epic system and its Clarity and Cogito suite of reporting tools (Caboodle, SlicerDicer, Radar, RW) but can extend to other warehouse solutions, including SSIS and the development of Data Marts for data storage or processing. Support custom extracts sourced from Epic and coordinate the transmission to vendors, regulatory agencies, or other reporting applications, such as Power BI. Adheres to processes, procedures, and standards for the daily management of the Epic Clarity console and Database, Epic Reporting Workbench, Epic Slicer Dicer and Epic Radar. Analyze business needs and assess the best course of report development using the appropriate reporting tools. Develop Clarity and Caboodle reports and extracts. Develop Workbench, Slicer Dicer and Radar reports. Provide basic training on the Slicer Dicer tool and Reporting Workbench for end users. Work with the reporting security structure and best practice for report distribution. Contribute to the development and support of strategies for warehouse implementation, data acquisition, and archive recovery. Develop work plans for assigned projects. Consults and makes recommendations to business and technical groups at all levels to define data requirements, evaluates data technology needs, and formulates solutions. Works closely with EMR and/or Revenue Cycle Analysts to understand operational workflows in Epic and underlying data structure. Designs and implements data presentations based on requirements. Maintain databases for recovery, high availability, performance and maintenance. Perform SQL queries and script writing. Perform report writing including relational database reporting. Provide expert advice to Epic report developers in the use of the Epic Clarity, Caboodle and the Cogito suite of reporting tools, including Reporting Workbench and Slicer Dicer. Work with SSIS and the development of ETL processes. Utilize the SSRS visualization tool.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Epic Certification or Accreditation required in Cogito and Clarity Data Model. 5 years of experience with: SQL Query and script writing; report writing including at least 3 years in relational database reporting. 4 years of experience in: a data role in a healthcare setting and experience with Epic Clarity, Caboodle and the Cogito suite of reporting tools, including Reporting Workbench, Radar or Slicer Dicer. 2 years of experience with: SSIS and development of ETL processes; and SSRS visualization tool. Hybrid schedule available at employer discretion. Employee must be located within a normal commuting distance of 3509 N. Broad St, Philadelphia, PA 19140. Full-time. Support for Clarity/Caboodle and the ETL process for custom extracts and reports may be required outside of normal office hours. Any coverage outside normal office hours is scheduled as part of the 40 hours per week.
