Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a Level I Trauma Center in Massachusetts, requiring scrub/circulate experience with neuro, ortho, and trauma cases.

Details
  • Acute care hospital OR setting with 23 suites averaging 75 cases per day
  • Level I Trauma Center
  • Common case types include neuro, ortho, trauma, cardiac, and ex-lap
  • Circulating is the primary RN role; scrubbing is a bonus but not required
  • Shift lengths are flexible at 8, 10, or 12 hours for a total of 36–40 hours per week; specifics discussed with manager during interview
  • Day shift with weekend rotation (12-hour shifts on weekends)
  • Travelers take the same call as permanent staff — approximately 3–4 weeknight call shifts and 1–2 weekend call shifts per 4-week period
  • Call response time is 45 minutes

Additional Information
  • All travelers are expected to participate in the same call rotation as permanent staff, including weeknight and weekend call assignments
  • RNs may sign up for tech call spots, but may be bumped by surgical techs who need to fulfill their own call requirements
  • Weekend shifts are 12-hour shifts worked in rotation with other staff; weekday shifts may be 8 hours
  • Hospital-issued scrubs provided
  • A manager interview is required for this position
  • First-time travelers are not preferred; prior travel experience is strongly encouraged
