Description

American Traveler is hiring an ICU RN for a Level I Trauma unit requiring at least 3 years of recent critical care experience and an active FL or compact RN license.

Details
  • Work in the ICU of a Level I Trauma and Stroke unit
  • Patient ratios of 2:1 or 1:1
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 19:00 to 07:30
  • Every other weekend required
  • Floating required as needed
  • Holiday coverage required as needed
  • Uses Epic EMR
  • Cerner charting experience preferred
Requirements
  • Active FL or compact RN license required in hand
  • BLS and ACLS certifications via AHA required
  • NIH Stroke Scale certification required in hand at time of consideration
  • Minimum 3 years recent critical care experience with acute/chronically ill patients required
  • Trauma and Neuro ICU experience required
  • Charge RN and Neuro ICU experience preferred
  • Level I Trauma experience required, 3-5 years preferred
  • Degree required from an accredited school, or from an FBON-approved institution combined with 2 years of recent consecutive US hospital acute care experience within the past 24 months
  • Skills required include IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care/management, BiPAP/CPAP management, care of ventilated patients, suctioning (ETT, NT), cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
  • Must pass a Basic Arrhythmia assessment with 100% in lethal rhythms and an overall Angoff score of 83% or greater
  • Must complete a Florida AHCA Level 2 background screening, including fingerprint-based state and federal criminal history checks and abuse registry review
  • Proof of vaccination status required for consideration, with no declinations allowed
Additional Information
  • Provide critical care nursing to trauma and neuro ICU patients using isolation precautions and PPE as needed
  • Smoke-free facility
  • Locals within a 60-mile radius are considered at a lower pay rate
  • Former Broward Health permanent employees must be separated for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
  • Candidates from Operation Nightingale schools are not accepted
  • Must complete lab work within 72 hours of signing
  • First-time travelers not specified for eligibility
