Cooperidge Consulting Firm is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) - Ortho and Trauma for a top healthcare client in Roanoke, VA.
This position offers an excellent opportunity to join one of Virginia's leading Level I Trauma Centers, providing care to patients recovering from orthopedic injuries, trauma-related surgeries, and complex post-operative conditions. The RN will play a key role in coordinating care for patients with fractures, joint replacements, spinal injuries, and multi-system trauma, ensuring safe recovery and rehabilitation in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Job Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality, compassionate care to orthopedic and trauma patients throughout their inpatient recovery.
  • Conduct detailed patient assessments, monitor vital signs, and respond promptly to changes in condition.
  • Administer medications, wound care, IV therapies, and pain management according to physician orders and hospital protocols.
  • Collaborate with surgical teams, physical therapists, and case managers to coordinate patient-centered care plans.
  • Educate patients and families on surgical aftercare, mobility restrictions, and recovery expectations.
  • Accurately document all patient interactions and interventions using EPIC EMR.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements
Education
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing or approved program eligible for Virginia RN licensure.

Experience
  • New graduates and experienced RNs are encouraged to apply.
  • Experience in orthopedic, trauma, or surgical care preferred.

Certifications/Licenses
  • Virginia RN license (or eligibility).
  • CPR certification required; ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications as applicable within one year of hire.
