Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced PCU RN for a 13-week float pool assignment requiring KS/MO or compact RN license and telemetry expertise.

Details
  • Float pool position covering Med/Surg Intermediate/PCU departments across approximately 5 units and multiple metro campuses as needed
  • No assigned home unit for this role
  • Day shift, 3x12 hours (6:45 AM - 7:15 PM)
  • Patient ratio of 1:5
  • Weekend requirement of 8 shifts within Saint Luke's 6-week schedule period, a combination of Friday/Saturday/Sunday
  • Holiday shifts and Charge RN assignments as needed per unit
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Utilizes Virtual Nurses, 12 lead EKG, AirVo, Voalte, and Omnicell systems
Requirements
  • Active KS or Compact RN license required, along with Missouri license or compact in hand at time of consideration
  • BLS and NIHSS certifications required; ACLS preferred
  • 1 to 2 years of recent experience required, including a full year of in-specialty experience within the past 12 months with no employment gaps greater than 90 days
  • Experience in MS/Tele, Telemetry, Cardiac Telemetry, and Neuro Stepdown settings required
  • Skilled in cardiac monitoring and emergency response, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
  • Experience with pre/post cardiac catheterization patients required
  • Clinical background managing sepsis, wound care, ETOH, SI, renal failure, AFib, GIB, stroke, and COVID patients
  • Preferred skills include sheath removal, feeding tube care and management, port access, blood product administration, and central line care/management
  • Two professional references required, with at least one from a supervisor level or above and the second from a Charge RN, both from within the past year
Additional Information
  • Provide telemetry and cardiac monitoring nursing care across multiple PCU and stepdown units, floating between departments and facilities as needed
  • Candidates must live at least 75 miles from the facility to be considered; local candidates are not accepted
  • Maximum RTO of 7 days, with all time off requests finalized at time of consideration and no additional RTO permitted after offer or onsite
  • Previous BJC or Saint Luke's employees must complete an 18-month tenure with a 3-month break in service, or wait 1 year if returning as a traveler from permanent employment
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • No travel partners accepted for this position
  • Compliance documentation due 2 Fridays before start date, along with completion of required EMR and equipment training modules prior to start
