Position Overview:

The Epic Analyst Apprentice Training Facilitator serves as a technical coach, learning partner, and people leader for apprentices developing into Epic analysts supporting clinically oriented applications. This role helps apprentices connect formal Epic training; certification content, operational workflows, and OCHIN best-practice build standards to real application support and configuration work. Formal trainers and instructional designers are responsible for developing and delivering the formal curriculum; the facilitator reinforces learning through coaching, applied examples, guided practice, technical review, and day-to-day learner support.

Essential Functions:

  • Coach apprentices as they complete Epic certification, proficiency, operational end-user training, customer service training, JIRA responsiveness training, and application-specific learning activities.
  • Translate formal curriculum into applied build and configuration capability by helping apprentices understand how clinical workflows, member needs, and OCHIN standards influence system design decisions.
  • Support apprentices in full-cycle revenue cycle applications, including Prelude, Cadence, Referrals, Estimates, Resolute, RTE, and Grand Central.
  • Provide technical leadership for apprentice-appropriate service catalog work, including ticket review, troubleshooting guidance, escalation support, documentation coaching, and readiness assessment.
  • Partner with formal trainers, operational leaders, Help Desk supervisors, MCT supervisors, mentors, and application subject matter experts to ensure apprentices receive coordinated support across the full learning journey.
  • Help apprentices develop sound build habits, including use of documented standards, peer review, testing discipline, clear documentation, and awareness of downstream impacts across the Epic ecosystem.
  • Serve as a people leader and coach by setting expectations, monitoring progress, removing barriers, providing feedback, and supporting apprentice engagement and retention.
  • Contribute to phase-gate readiness conversations by providing evidence of technical growth, quality, productivity, professional behaviors, and readiness for increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Identify common learning gaps and partner with Learning teams to improve job aids, simulations, coaching materials, standard work, and applied practice opportunities.
