Job description

Carex is partnering with a Series A healthtech partner to identify a strategic and experienced Enterprise Account Executive focused on selling into health systems and integrated delivery networks (IDNs) within the pharmacy space. Location: NYC (3 days in-office); remote considered for exceptional candidates.

This role is ideal for a seasoned healthcare technology sales professional with deep experience navigating complex health system buying processes and long enterprise sales cycles. The selected candidate will own the full sales cycle, from prospecting through contract execution and go-live, while building relationships across pharmacy leadership, clinical informatics, IT, ambulatory operations, and executive stakeholders.

The ideal candidate understands how health systems evaluate new technology, navigate governance and procurement processes, and build consensus across diverse stakeholder groups. This person will be responsible for developing a territory from the ground up, generating pipeline independently, and helping health systems improve prescription capture and pharmacy performance through modern healthcare technology solutions. Experience selling into Epic-based environments and a strong understanding of the intersection between clinical workflows, pharmacy operations, health system revenue strategy, and 340B program economics are essential.

What You'll Do
  • Own the full enterprise sales cycle for health systems and IDNs, from target identification and prospecting through contract execution, implementation handoff, and go-live.
  • Build and manage a self-generated pipeline through strategic outbound efforts, account-based selling, networking, and relationship-driven business development.
  • Identify health systems that align with the ideal customer profile, including organizations participating in the 340B program, operating retail or specialty pharmacies, and utilizing Epic or similarly complex EHR and pharmacy infrastructures.
  • Develop and execute account strategies that address the needs of complex stakeholder groups across pharmacy, clinical, operational, technical, financial, and executive functions.
  • Lead discovery, business case development, value assessments, and solution positioning throughout the sales process.
  • Build compelling financial and operational cases by demonstrating opportunities to increase prescription capture, improve patient access, enhance pharmacy performance, and drive additional pharmacy revenue.
  • Navigate governance processes, technical evaluations, security reviews, procurement requirements, and contract negotiations within health system environments.
  • Establish trusted relationships with Chief Pharmacy Officers, pharmacy executives, clinical informatics teams, ambulatory care leaders, IT stakeholders, Epic application teams, integration teams, and executive sponsors.
  • Engage confidently in conversations regarding Epic workflows, Epic integrations, interoperability, pharmacy operations, and healthcare technology ecosystems.
  • Partner with internal technical and clinical resources to support integration discussions, workflow assessments, and solution evaluations.
  • Maintain momentum across long enterprise sales cycles, including evaluations, governance reviews, technical validation, contracting, and implementation planning.
  • Maintain accurate CRM data, pipeline visibility, and forecasting discipline.
  • Provide market intelligence, customer feedback, and competitive insights to help shape go-to-market strategy and product direction.
  • Represent the organization at industry events, customer meetings, conferences, and onsite engagements.
What You'll Bring
  • 5+ years of full-cycle enterprise sales experience selling technology solutions directly to hospitals, health systems, or integrated delivery networks (IDNs).
  • Demonstrated success closing complex, multi-stakeholder enterprise deals with sales cycles of 6–12 months or longer.
  • Deep familiarity with Epic and the ability to discuss healthcare workflows, integrations, interoperability, and EHR-related initiatives.
  • Experience navigating health system governance structures, including IT leadership, clinical informatics, operational stakeholders, procurement teams, and executive decision-makers.
  • Proven ability to independently generate pipeline and create new business opportunities without dedicated SDR support.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise healthcare buying processes, including security reviews, technical evaluations, contracting, and implementation planning.
  • Experience developing relationships with pharmacy leadership, ambulatory clinical leaders, IT executives, operational stakeholders, and healthcare executives.
  • Understanding of health system pharmacy operations, pharmacy revenue drivers, prescription capture strategies, or 340B program dynamics.
  • Ability to translate clinical, technical, operational, and financial concepts into clear business value and executive-level ROI discussions.
  • Strong consultative selling, communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to thrive in ambiguity and help shape an evolving health system sales strategy.
  • Willingness and ability to travel for customer meetings, conferences, and industry events.
  • Ability to work in the NYC metro area and be present in the Brooklyn office at least three days per week; remote candidates with exceptional qualifications may be considered.

The base salary for this role is $150k-$175k + double for OTE + equity. If the range doesn’t align with your needs, Carex values transparency in all steps of the recruiting process. The range listed above is dependent on skills and experience as it relates to the role. New roles arise every day, and we want you to be the first to know when the right role pops up for you.
