Job description

We are seeking a professional, high-energy, and detail-oriented Front Desk Receptionist to join our busy cardiology practice. As the first point of contact for our patients, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and maintaining an efficient clinic flow. The ideal candidate has prior experience in a fast-paced medical office, strong communication skills, and proficiency with the Epic EMR system.

Key Responsibilities

  • Patient Check-Out: verify demographics, update insurance information, and collect copays/outstanding balances directly within Epic.

  • Scheduling & Templates: Efficiently schedule, reschedule, and cancel patient appointments, follow-ups, and diagnostic testing.

  • Insurance Verification:  Navigate Epic to review insurance eligibility to know what the patient's responsibility will be. 

  • Telephone Management: Answer multi-line phones professionally, triage patient inquiries, route messages to the appropriate clinical staff, and manage the Epic InBasket for appointments. 

Qualifications & Skills

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Experience: Minimum of 1–2 years of medical front desk experience, preferably in cardiology or a similarly fast-paced specialty.

  • Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with Epic EMR is strictly required.

  • Skills:

    • Strong understanding of medical insurance, copays, and basic medical terminology.

    • Ability to multitask under pressure while maintaining a calm, empathetic demeanor with patients.

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
