Overview
We are hiring a Manager - Revenue Cycle Informatics to join our team at UnityPoint Health! This role is responsible for providing leadership to the informatics staff and over-seeing the daily support needs of the assigned regions. The manager will work closely with a variety of departments to plan and/or implement continued process improvement and new projects related to Revenue Cycle and the electronic health record. Additionally, this role will lead the work of the informaticists and informatics trainers in the assigned regions as well as provide leadership over the hospital and professional billing office training teams.
Hours: Monday-Friday, standard business hours
Location: Remote - applicants must reside within the UnityPoint Health footprint of Iowa, Illinois, or Wisconsin. Some travel required.

Responsibilities
Leadership & Project Coordination:
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to staff to ensure effective, efficient operations, optimal performance, and continually improving quality in a vastly changing health care environment
  • Responsible for leading the day-to-day operational aspects of the EHR-related projects and the work of the team including: Identification of resources and establishment of project schedules, driving forward and accelerating progress, and providing input and assistance in the development of project materials
  • Build and maintain a strong functional Revenue Cycle Informatics team through effective recruiting, training, coaching, team building and succession planning
  • Prepare and participate in the preparation of staff development plans for each functional associate who is a member of the Revenue Cycle Informatics team
  • Assess the skills and skill levels necessary to achieve Revenue Cycle Informatics team work objectives
  • Accountable for engagement and performance enablement of the Revenue Cycle Informatics team
  • Collaborate with the Revenue Integrity Directors and Revenue Integrity Analysts to effectively deliver training and communication related to projects, initiatives, and training opportunities
  • Coordinate data and reporting needs with the reporting team, as needed, and analyze data or submit reports as needed
  • Work closely with IT, functional departments, and operations/management to ensure efficient and effective use/deployment of the EHR application(s) and the associated training programs, which may include required governmental or regulatory programs
  • Organize, conduct, and/or participate in system-wide initiatives, events, and projects of varying size and complexity with a focus on recommending and implementing change, identifying and resolving barriers and improving processes
  • Develop a complete understanding of the EHR application(s) and serve as a subject matter expert to the organization and as a mentor to the informatics team
  • Leads the pre-planning and implementation activities associated with the on-boarding of new departments or affiliates

Customer Service, Education, & Support:
  • Support the end user and IT in resolving EHR or computer related issues, which may include the submission and/or tracking of service tickets
  • Identifies, tracks, and seeks approval for enhancement request, and assists in the prioritization and implementation of these system changes
  • Provides educational or informational updates to end users through a variety of communication channels and teaching methodologies

Qualifications
Education:
  • Required: Bachelor's degree in a healthcare related field or equivalent experience (minimum four years) in medical practice management or healthcare related IT systems/training

Experience:
  • Required: Strong background in Epic
  • Preferred: Epic credentialed trainer

Licenses/Certifications:
  • Valid driver's license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons
  • Must achieve Epic credentialed trainer status for registration/scheduling/billing curriculum as assigned within 4 to 6 months of hire
