What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Epic Go Live position, and why are they important?

To thrive in an Epic Go Live role, you need a strong understanding of healthcare workflows, Epic EMR systems, and project management, typically supported by relevant certifications such as Epic credentialing or previous Go Live support experience. Familiarity with Epic modules, ticketing systems (such as ServiceNow), and troubleshooting tools is essential. Common challenges include troubleshooting unexpected issues, managing user resistance to change, and addressing technical problems in real time. Successful team members must be able to think quickly, communicate clearly with diverse healthcare staff, and provide calm, efficient support. By working closely with physicians, nurses, and IT professionals, Go Live teams help ensure a smooth transition and minimize workflow disruptions. Adaptability and strong problem-solving skills are key to overcoming these challenges and supporting a positive implementation experience.
