Locum Tenens OB/GYN Physician - Richmond, VA (13-week assignment)

Locum Tenens OB/GYN Physician in Richmond, VA - 13-week assignment providing obstetrics and gynecology and women's health care in both hospital and office settings. Join our Richmond healthcare team delivering high-quality maternity and gynecology care.

Job Details
  • Location: Richmond, VA 23226 - Richmond OB/GYN jobs, Virginia locum tenens opportunities
  • Assignment Dates: May 26, 2026 - August 25, 2026
  • Duration: 13 weeks
  • Weekly Estimated Pay: $6,830 - $8,090
  • Practice Setting: Office and hospital (labor & delivery, inpatient and outpatient OB/GYN)
  • Shift Duration: 8 Hour Days
  • Schedule: Office hours 8am-4pm; designated 24-hour call coverage on select days and weekends
  • Team: 4 physicians (1 on leave), 5 midwives, dedicated clinical staff (CMA, LPN, RN)
  • Onsite Lab & Ultrasound: Yes (OB ultrasound Level I/screening)
  • EMR: Epic (experience with Epic EMR preferred)
Job Requirements
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in OB/GYN (Obstetrics & Gynecology)
  • Active Virginia medical license or willingness to obtain (locum tenens Virginia licensure)
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications
  • Self-query NPDB report (within 30 days of submission)
  • Minimum 1 year of OB/GYN physician experience, including labor & delivery and gynecologic procedures
  • Provider must be local to the Richmond area (mileage reimbursed)
Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive office-based OB/GYN care: well-woman exams, prenatal visits, contraception, and routine gynecologic care
  • Manage labor & delivery including routine and complex deliveries (vaginal, C-section, VBACs, breech, multiple births)
  • Perform gynecologic surgeries (open, laparoscopic, diagnostic, and operative procedures)
  • Interpret and perform obstetric ultrasounds (Level I/screening)
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team of physicians, midwives, nurses, and clinical staff to ensure high-quality maternity care
  • Participate in scheduled 24-hour call coverage and inpatient rounding as required
  • Document patient encounters and procedures accurately in Epic EMR
