The Role (12-month fixed term contract)

As Scientist Enzyme Technology, you will be part of an exciting international R&D and business environment, working with cutting edge technologies and a broad portfolio of diverse projects. This is a bench-scientist position focused on enzyme characterization.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Join our team of dedicated and skilled experts and work together towards determining protein structure-function relationships with a particular focus on application performance
  • Biochemically characterize a large variety of enzymes using a broad spectrum of analytical techniques
  • Develop new enzymatic assays to do so – from application-relevant assay to high-throughput screening
  • Work in project teams, in which you take ownership for the work that you plan and carry out
  • Document, report and present your experimental results
  • You will work in an interdisciplinary manner within the Protein Chemistry Germany team, which is part of the global Enzyme Technology team, as well as with broader R&D and Application development teams located in Germany and in Finland
About You
  • A scientific education and degree (Bachelor or Master) or multiple years of working experience
  • Experience with high-throughput screening and using automated and complex equipment is a plus
  • A good understanding of enzymes in industrial applications is a plus
  • A hands-on attitude combined with a drive for results; you are a true team player
  • The continuous desire to learn and develop new skills as well as the flexibility and interest to work on enzymes for various applications
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and capabilities (fluent in English; written and spoken. German and Finish is a plus)

This is a full-time position with a 12-month fixed term contract due to a parental leave.
